The same thing as last year and the year before for everything except 20% of the decor. I am hoping Epcot's 5-year-rule is over and they'll retheme the main tree and park. The flags and globes have seen better days.

Or maybe it's MK's turn? No more giant toys theme. Super-size popcorn garland anyone?

I think MGM's theme is fairly fresh, so we're stuck with it for a while. AK has had the same tree atleast 2 year, but the park interior seemed different last year.

Here's hoping we're not on the year that they don't re-do one of the 4 parks (4 out of 5.. yeah, 1 year none of the major parks gets redone).

*crosses fingers for this to be Epcot's year*

I am hoping for added decor because the last holiday season i was there, it was just main street that was decorated and that was it. I was disapponted to say the least.

I second the vote for bringing back Christmas CBJ~ We really missed it in 2006. Looking forward to our 2007 trip.

When I took the Backstage Magic tour back in February, the holiday services folks said they heard the same complaints that there were less decorations but they stressed they had put out more than ever this past year.
While I was one in agreement that there seemed to be a lot less this year, I guess maybe they just spread it out a bit more.

I swear they use the same music in Future World and around the big hat in MGM. During the holidays I get so sick of the music.

I went with Paul from Window to the Magic around the park, and we noticed how bad the end result would be of the "Where In the Park" game. Why? Because it is very important for navigation that the music changes. Without the music queues, one may have a real difficult time with audio navigation.

In my recordings from that vacation I have the same background music everywhere. Drives me nuts. There are only so many songs that can play. I'm very happy that they left most of the music alone at the Magic Kingdom. They leave it mostly for the MVMCP.

WOrd of advice, if you're trying to do a binaural recording of your entire vacation, do it when it isn't the holidays. I recorded over 80 ours of audio, and the same music appears over and over again.

The audio starts out cool and then gets old fast. I can't decide if I hate the Epcot holiday loop or any of the Flower and Garden loops more.

Each time they finally turn them off and put the normal music back on I do a happy dance.

I really wish they would change the soundtrack to MVMCP, heh and well perferably the whole parade. The name of the parade could remain the same. Just better floats and a new soundtrack. Personally I love Disneyland Paris Christmas parade music. WDW could really do better with their holiday events. Tokyo Disneyland changes their holiday parades almost ever year. I know, its a budget thing for WDW.

Actually - there were a lot more decorations up in the Magic Kingdom last year -- keep in mind that the decorations are not just he main street hub decorations -- they had wreaths on the lightposts throughout the park, specially designed ones even in mickey's toontown - there were all sorts of holiday decorations all over the back area of the park, which have never been there before. You think WDW's recycling of christmas decorations is something -- they send their USED ones over to Disneyland Paris and Tokyo. Imagine seeing the same tired decorations you saw at WDW for years at DPR the next year! (they also recycle the parade floats, costumes, and props).

I always look forward to WDW at holiday time -- MVMCP is one of the best kept secrets in town for those who want true "extended evening hours" with virtually nobody in line in front of you - and to put you into the holiday spirit. But DTD is also beautifully decorated, and what a wonderful place to do some Christmas shopping. Last year's holiday decorations at Raglan Road were gorgeous (and very traditionally Irish).

I wouldn't expect any new holiday surprises though - just an extension of the same. The holiday events there don't necessarily draw in new crowds -- they keep their returning crowds happy.
