I am fascinated with the history of WDW from the secret land purchase in the mid 1960's to the early years of the MK. Anybody have suggestions for books, websites, newspaper/magazine articles and/or videos that deal with this period of WDW history. I would love to see construction photos, read about problems that were encountered during the construction, etc....

I recently downloaded a 45 minute video called A Dream Called Walt Disney World that was made in 1981.

It's all about how WDW came to be and features a lot of insight from the man himself.

It was in the alt.binaries.disney newsgroup.

Last night I uploaded a video called 'Project Florida' to the alt.binaries.multimedia.disney newsgroup in a response to a persons request.

The encode was not mine, I was just reposting something I had that someone wanted.

Well, the answer is both. I posted it to the newsgroups last night btu I originally obtained it from #Disney-Central. Check !Dizvideo/(((TV Shows))) IRCC.

UCF DISNEYFAN:
Newsgroups/usenet (goes by both names) are part of the service from you Internet Service Provider. Think of them as forums on steroids. The general idea is the same as this forum, people post a message and people respond. However, instead of 10 categories there are something like 35000 (no that's not a typo.)

These categories cover everything under the sun. One such group is alt.binaries.multimedia.disney

Binaries=files
Multimedia=sound/video
Disney=um, Disney stuff

In this group you will find many interesting things. If you are still confused, contact your ISP for information. I would suggest by starting at their website for information.

Actually, my mistake, it was in alt.binaries.multimedia.disney.

For all the info on using newsgroups I would recommend http://www.timdoc.com

Tells you everything you need to know.
