WDW Gay Days?

I know that Gay Days isn't an official Disney event, but I wanted to find more information about it.
If anyone has been there before, please discuss your thoughts & experiences in this thread.
Also, I know some people are touchy about this- no hate, please!

Gay days really isn't much different than any other day in the parks. Obviously you will see a lot of red shirts and more gay couples walking about but it's just another day in the parks. There are some planned events but they are held in offstage areas as private invite only. Here's the website fro those who are interested https://www.gaydays.com

I have heard a lot of people complaining about that day and from what I have heard Disney has refunded families who have complained to them. I haven't been on those days, but they are talked about in the same way that the Brazilian tour groups are. At least talked about enough for me to plan around that day. WDW has it in June and last I checked they go to Disneyland in October.

Sorry. That's not how it is, despite some of the rumors that are out there. And I've heard them too.

We've taken our family around that week (first week of June) 4 out of the last 5 years because it's just good timing for us. We have hardly even noticed. Like someone said earlier, a few extra gay couples walking around, but who cares. Honestly, had I not already known it was the Gay days week, I might not have even noticed.

If you're not interested in the event, I would suggest avoiding the main gay days park each day only because it can get a bit crowded. But if you can't, it's not a big problem. I have never seen anything remotely inappropriate - gay or straight - for a family park.

Weather's not too hot (for Florida), and crowds tend to be pretty good that time of year too because many kids aren't out of school yet. Plus, everything is open and staffed well because it's summer. It's actually a great time to go.
