If I remember correctly, the one in Animal Kingdom was gone when we went last October. Well, at least it wasn't open anyway. We made/bought a CD there 2 years ago and it didn't seem very busy. Maybe with all the cutbacks Disney opted not to pay a casmember to just stand there.:snore:
Last time I was at WDW (12/01) all of the CD "makers" were gone except at Studio M in DTD. Gee whiz, talk about great technology. Just imagine if you could pick all the songs you wanted for a CD (or movies for a DVD) and burn them at home over the internet! All the liner notes and menus would be sent to your printer. As you know, the technology is there but the "evil forces" stand in the way. Maybe one day we'll see it happen. Also, they didn't have any new songs on the list since my previous trip.
They were removed from the international gateway giftshop. Three wooden cabinets with big gaping holes in them. Its a pity because I would have bought one.
As of last week the one in Downtown Disney was still there. I can't think of any others. I'm not too suprised that they are going away as they have barely been updated in the last year. The selection has been quite stale, nothing that you can't find on the internet if you look hard enough.
Morpheus has a ton of Disney Music and attraction files. Keep doing searches and something new always pops up from the previous search. I've made myself several CDs with files from there.
I agree though it will be sad to see them go. I made a cd at one of them in Disneyland back in 1998. It is still one of my favorites but I must say I really like creating and themeing my own.
Luckily, I made some CD's in my last visits to The World, it's nice to choose your own Disney Music , but I had almost every song or theme in other Disney CD's since most of them appeared in the annual Disney Compilation of park songs, so it's not a big deal. You won't miss much music, just a few melodies which aren't to relevant.

Was at Studio M last night - the computers are TORN DOWN. CMs said "They are gone forever at Walt Disney World" - lol (WDW FOREVER)... "but are still at Disneyland."
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!:brick: Thanks for the info though Rooster and Disney Dave!
I wish they would sell more. They were somewhat hidden, and I suppose the "average Disney guest" did not have a need to purchase them. How could they have sold more? Oh well, they're gone anyways.
I think they were a good invention, but not placed in the right places. Main Street U.S.A was a perfect place for them, people visiting the MK always enter the stores at MSUSA, but not all Epcot's guests visit the International Gateway store. I think that a pefect spot in Epcot is near the Ice Station Cool, or the fountain, since people needs to pass this place for almost all of the rides.
