Been trying to get into contact with WDW dining to add a few more people to a dining reservation for a trip 2 months out, but have been on hold for 3+ hours on 3 different calls. Anyone else have this problem, is it just really busy this week?

I know what you mean. I was on hold for 100 minutes the other day to get two reservations merged together for my brother. FYI, when I was at Disney in December, I noticed when checking into the app that they allowed up to 2 extra guests to check-in for a dining reservation. That may have changed though.

Contacting Disney by phone has always been a frustrating endeavor. Its only gotten worse as staff has been cut and demand to make bookings is starting to raise. I'm willing to wait through the music and announcements, but there is a limit to my patience hanging on. Once my limit is reached ( I think the longest Ive gone is 30 min. ) I hang up no matter what the call is for. My time is worth more to me than sitting static on hold.

My sister has tickets that expire in September but our trip is in October. She was on hold for 3 hours today then got disconnected. She’s so frustrated. Sounds like I should tell her to wait a week?

I needed to add my flight info for DME today. It said the wait would be 68 min but ended up being around 36. Speakerphone just kept going thru the loop until they answered and I continued to do other things.

Just go onto your Disney account and you can edit your dining reservation there. I have done it numerous times in the past week as different times open up for our upcoming trip.

Reminds me of when I was on hold with my endocrinologist's office last week for 2-hrs trying to get a refill. I hung up and chose another option on the phone tree. Sometimes I think that works and why some may get a shorter wait??

I think the waiting on hold for hours and then getting the "disconnect" is the absolute worst and most frustrating endeavor of calling WDW-Disney!! I won't do it anymore and have since found the wonders of using a travel agent. So far, I've not needed to call Disney for one thing--I've just emailed my TA, given her the info, and she's taken care of it. The only thing she's not been able to do is book a town car for our return to MCO (she did give me the name/number of the company she recommends). Good luck everyone!

I have to call to update my DME flight info... but does that even matter anymore since they don’t hand deliver your luggage?
It does, in that it gives them an idea of how many busses they need to transport at what time, and to issue your vouchers you use to get on.

I thought your vouchers were on your MB and you just scanned the MB. I had to scan my MB for my mom and kids to ride it last trip since I was the primary guest on the reservation (DH and I were renting a car and meeting them at the resort; DME was delivering all the luggage so we didn't have to worry about it. But I don't recall actually having anything physical (other than an email confirmation).

ETA: this was pre-covid, of course 😉

Ah! There's where I missed it. We haven't used DME on the return in ages because we can't stand the system for pick-up. I hate having to be ready for hours before my flight and then go to every other resort on property (or so it seems), picking up guests! We generally rent a car and drive it back to the airport after utilizing Resort Airline Check-in (boy, will I miss that service)! So indeed, there definitely is that! 😊

The baggage part is a biggie. It’s not that we can’t pick up and haul our luggage around, it’s that we are enjoyed being spoiled and not having to. Check it in at the airport and forget about it. Just magically showed up in the room when we got back from the parks. Likewise check it in at the resort and not see it until we were back at our destination airport. The 3 hour early departure for DME leaving is always bittersweet as you try to get the most time you can on vacation.

For God's sakes, Disney needs to just work on their policies, and eliminate the need for call ins. Make your policies clear, don't make exceptions, and make things simple enough that they can be taken care of online. You tell customers that they must call in and plead their case to get sold out dining reservations or reboot expired passes, and you wonder why wait times are hours long. If you're going to force people to call in for no valid reason, it should be their responsible to pony up the money to staff those lines to the teeth.
