WDW Create an Album

Does anyone remember when in a few spots in WDW (Kodak Shop and the store near the back entrance to Epcot) there was a Kiosk that you used to be able to create your own personal album of Disney Park songs from Shows, Rides, Theme Park Themes, etc????? Whatever happened to them? I thought they were amazing. Instead of buying their CD's that might have a few songs that you don't care for, you could choose all the ones that mean more to you personally. I thought it was a great idea and I remember it used to do very well. I guess they felt they didnt need it anymore? That sucks. I used to love making my own album almost every trip.

Well picking one song doesnt make any sense. This was being able to go up to a computer, then you can choose through all the parks, sections of the parks and they had the music you hear waiting in lines, on ride music, parade music, almost anything. And you could generally choose about 12 songs per CD.

I mean sure, I can download Theme Park music on Limewire and make my own CD, but it was nice when it was personalized CD and Case. Oh well, I was just trying to see if anyone remembered this.

The kiosks you're thinking of were called "Walt Disney World Forever"
There was one in each park and one in Downtown Disney. I got my CD in Animal Kingdom when the park first opened.
They were pretty expensive. Around $20 I believe. You could pick from a large sellection of park music. The CD's held from 8 to 10 selections depending on the length of the selection.
They included a beautiful CD case with a picture of each of the 4 parks on the front and were personalized with a name of your choosing.
Mine has "Scott's Disney Music" on the front
There was a listing of all your selections on the inside along with your name.
Mine says "Made by Scott's Disney Music"
Some of the selections I chose were:
Monorail Spiel Parts 1 and 2
Main Street USA Area Music "Flitterin"
Listen to The Land
and Tree of life theme.

There were headphones in the kiosks so your could preview your selections before you chose them for your CD

Here's what was on the back of the CD
Walt Disney World Forever
Forever in a world of magic and wonder, fantasy and light, diversity and culture, and curiosity and wisdom is the Walt Disney World Resort through it's sights and sounds.

From the unforgettable songs and moving themes to the shrills of excitement and the aahs of delight, the Parks and Resorts of the Walt Disney World Resortsare an orchestra and chorus of music and sound.

Walt Disney World Forever is your personalized experience to remember the times, the places, the people, and the sounds of your memories at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Hope this helps.

As Scooter said, you are referring to the WDWF kiosks. They not only had the ability to create your own "mix" of park music, but the ability to burn on demand copies of old Disney/Disneyland albums. The fan community has found copies of every known WDWF and DLF track (different tracks for WDW and DLR) and made them available if you know where to look. If I remember right, someone even found an old kiosk somewhere and was able to get all the images/verbage to recreate it.
No one really seemed to know why they stopped, may have been the fact you were limited by track number, not CD length. Or that no one really knew about the systems. Hard to say exactly.

I do not remember this, but it sounds awesome.
