WDW CP questions

Hey guys -

I was hoping to get some info to a few last minute college program questions

Now before anyone flips out and/or mods change the location I realize this is slightly in the wrong section, but the odds of anyone finding this in that location before I have to attend the presentation (tomorrow) is slim to none. So if this can be kept in WDW Gen. Discussion for tonight, I'd really appreciate it.

Anyways -

Going to the presentation tomorrow, I'm told it's going to last 90 minutes.

Can anyone whose attended a WDW College Program presentation tell me what to expect? I know I have to bring my application, I know it is professional dress, but can someone shed some light on the procedure that I will be going through tomorrow? Is it serious? Is it very professional? Will I be interviewed?

Thanks for any insight anyone can share

It's just an information session - they will basically try to "sell" the program to you. (which wasn't a problem for me - it was merely a formality)

At the end, you will get in line and one of the recruiters will take your information for your phone interview.

Nothing scary about the presentation, it's a lot of fun. The phone interview is also nothing to stress over.

Have fun, and good luck!

Yes... please... do yourself a favor and wear a suit. and a tie.... :)

Also, I know you already know this, but for goodness sake, act professionally and watch what you say. The interview "really" begins from the moment you arrive as they say in the business world.

I can't tell you how many times I've been embarassed by my recruits at these presentations.

Actual quote from my first presentation ever:

First girl: (running in crying) "I just found out that I'm gonna fail english if I don't do something about it fast!"

Second girl: (oblivious) "Don't sweat it chica, do what I'm doing, go to Disney World"

argh!!!!!!

Respect yourself. You never know when you'll need this recruiters help again. I've called upon my recruiters advice many times. (btw, there is a GPA requirement... lol)

ok.... end rant... PM me for more...

I'm done

Let us know how it goes, and your interview goes. I did the CP Spring Advantage 2004 and I am not exaggerating, it was truly the best time of my life!!

How do they do a GPA requirement? I'm just curious, because I was thinking about the CP. Is it like one GPA for all schools? Because not the be a pretentious a$$, but how does that work in school comparison? I wouldn't think it'd be fair to be denied because my ivy league GPA isnt good enough. (wow, i just sounded like a jerk. im sorry. im not really like that) Or is it just to make sure you're in good academic standing at your university?

Just be yourself man. As far as the dress code goes, you don't need to "dress up", just wear khaki's and a polo shirt. Us campus reps and our recruiter are the ones who are required for "professional dress". You will have to fill out a role checklist. It will broaden your chances of being accepted by the amount of roles you check off that you want to do. The major roles are custodial :sohappy:, merchandise, quick service food and beverage, and lifeguard. After the presentation, you will turn in your application and role check list to the recruiter and then setup a time good for you for your phone interview. The interview isn't anything to get nervous over. They will ask you questions by putting you in situations and ask how you would react to them. Good luck and have fun. Let us know how everything goes.
