WDW: Construction Zone

We all know that various projects are - and have been - underway in the 'world these days. Just to name a few, there's Avatarland, the Hub, BAH, Poly, Maelstrom... Just looking at the front page of the site and you see five consecutive headlines about other varied construction going on. Amazing! It's like WDW is a hive of activity, building and fixing.

I know I'm excited about all the new things coming and happening. I guess it's a good time for it, as I can't make it down for the next year or so anyway, heh. But even if I could - I doubt I would. There's just too much walled and scrimmed off right now. One giant construction zone doesn't help in bubbling up the magic, if you know what I mean. But it is what it is.

I tried posting a screenshot of the five front page headlines in a row, but alas - something's amiss.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining! I think it's great that there's so much stuff being added or refreshed.

It is funny how so many complained that Disney World was get nothing new or any loving care. Now that things are turning around and projects are underway, lets complain about all the construction. I say bring it on and improve as much of the parks as possible. A little pain and so much to gain.

So they shouldn't do anything in the parks because walls "ruin the magic"? But then when things get bad the complaint is how bad things are. So what are they supposed to do? It's about time we saw this amount of walls and construction and refurbbing going on.

It's just they're not doing things the masses want. No one's complaining about the walls around the BAH ...

I didn't read the original post as a complaint at all. Just an observation.

I think if I were deciding whether to go this year or next, I would off the trip because of the construction. Not so much because of all the walls, but because I would want to try and experience the new or refured things when the walls come down. Now, if my only choice was to go now when the walls are up, I would in a heartbeat.

I do not know what "masses" you are talking about. I do not think that the die hard fans on this web site are representatives of the masses, must people do not go very often and there is always something new for them. Some people that went with me on my last trip had not been to Walt Disney World scene the '80s. Lots of new stuff for them to see and enjoy. I think the masses may make only a few visits Walt Disney World in a life time.

I never said there wasn't anything new to do. I'm defending them having walls up and adding new things, etc.

And masses was probably the wrong word but that's just nitpicking at my statement. No, we're not the "masses" around here.

Who's complaining? I think it's great that Disney's expanding and refurbing on such a large scale!

Exactly!
