WDW Casting/Rehiring

Hello!

I was a CP in Spring 2008. I had one reprimand for calling in three times in a month (I had severe bronchitis and couldn't even get out of bed) and all of my managers knew this. Other than that, I had no issues with my job and most of my managers told me when I left that they wanted me to come back because I did such a good job. I even applied to extend and was accepted, but I decided not to because I wanted to get home to my family.

I went to apply for the Spring 2009 CP and had an over-the-phone interview, and as it ended they told me that I had a restricted rehire status. No one could give me a straight answer as to why. Three people that I worked with who left at the same time both had the same statuses from the area manager who apparently 'accidentally' put them on. I got in contact with the two managers I knew the best and they both said they would try and look into it. One said that he had called the 'higher-ups' and put in a good word for me. Since then, one of those managers was a victim of the job cuts and I'm not sure if the other is still working there or not.

I'm planning on being in the WDW area next week and was wondering if I can just walk into casting and inquire about my rehire status. If I can, is there anything I need to bring with me or anything I should know? I tried filling out the rehire paperwork they fax you with the job history but because I didn't have six months history somewhere they told me it wouldn't be accepted and it wasn't.

Thanks!

good luck with sorting the rehire status out, thats one of the things that sucks about being an CP or ICP. However, it should be so bad once the economy straightens out, as my roommate on my ICP had done a previous program and still go rehired with restricted hire status.

I'm also hoping the economy recovers for you, i currently have an application in waiting for them to start hiring again in attractions, and even postive rehire is no help in me getting in at the mo.
