WDW books

I apologize if this is in the wrong place, but what I am looking for is a list of books about WDW, but NOT guide books. I am looking for more like History-type books about the parks, background on each park, rides, attractions of the present and past, etc. I've only been to WDW once and would like to read up more on the history of it as the parks are so interesting to me, before I go back in September.

Is there anything like this that is available?? Thanks :)

I don't know about books exactly, but we ordered a dvd set through Amazon that is great. Also, some of the travel and destinations channels will run the documentaries of the parks and just last week my daughter recorded to dvr some of the documentaries on Walt Disney World and Disneyland and they have been updated to include all the newest attaractions. These are so fun to watch as you do your countdown for your trip. A wonderful anticpation builder!

There are plenty of WDW related books. It really depends on what you want. Sanitized "This was WDW..." with the official story line? CM stories about what goes on behind the scenes? Scholarly type books talking about how WDW was made (with regards to things like politics)? For years WDW would put out a new picture/coffee table book each year or so. Those are usually neat to look at, and give you a decent idea on what was new and planned. David Koenig did a series of CM expose type books called Mouse Tales (which some people do dispute the authenticity of) @KevinYee has done that some touch on the historical side as well. Then there are others like Married to the Mouse that go into the politics. Dig around on eBay or Amazon, search for things like Walt Disney World history. You can pick some great books up for just a few bucks.
