WDW After Cruise : TRAVEL QUESTION

I'll be using the Disney Cruise Line bus to and from MCO. However, after disembarking, instead of taking a flight home from the airport, we'll be renting a car and staying at WDW for nine days. How does this work when you provide DCL with your flight information? I heard you have to call if your return flight does not match the date you are disembarking. I would appreciate any info from those who have done this, or something similar.

Why don't you have the DCL transfers take you directly to WDW? You could then rent a car from the MK Car Care Center or the Swan/Dolphin or a Downtown Disney location.

If you still want to take the DCL transfers to MCO, just tell DCL that your flight is that day.

Why don't you just rent a car in Port Canaveral? You'll get to WDW much quicker; literally, you can be in the parks by 10 AM or earlier if you played your cards correctly and bring your GPS. There is a waiting area outside the DCL cruise terminal for all major car rental companies in the area. They start running at 7:30 AM so if you want off early and are renting in Port Canaveral make sure to be in the early exit line of the ship at 6 AM ish...Just avoid AVIS...you can search for a post I had on them, just bad in Port Canaveral...
