Got a message saying that "the first phase" of layoffs were expected to start April 22 in WDI Florida and California.

Anyone hear news stories?

Some News about it

From what I am told by a former manager, many lay off's were happening in Operations which would include attractions. After all, there are a bunch of managers working for each attraction. It is no suprise they are laying off some of them. WDI may be affect too. who knows.

I think sensational posts like this should be tempered with the rationale behind the layoffs, etc.

It's really easy to say "layoffs" and get people all up in arms.

On one had people complain there are too many middle management MBA's and too much oversight on things, yet if there are layoffs, people still complain.

Also it seems that WDI expects layoffs when new attractions are finished being built, as is the case for many years (from what people say).

I haven't heard any outrage yet... and, go ahead: you have the honors of posting the rationale... :D

Also, we had heard that the layoffs were going to occur later in the year. I was just looking to see if the layoffs had occurred.

And I'm THIS close to pulling out the Kevin Page avatar. :D

Well......... WDI Glendale, is not only "Imagineers"
There several jobs in the building with a relation to "imagineering" next to nil...
ie... Employees of the shop, security, mail men, administrators, secretaries... etc. etc... :D

So who are our WDWMagic Imagineers? TK-421SW and myself were discussing this in the recent past, but couldn't come up with definite answers.

I can understand wanting to remain "hidden", so a PM would do as well. Thanks a bunch!

I don't have the answer and I place that responsibility upon the creator of the thread :animwink: :animwink: :animwink:

My point is that something can appear to be one sided and when you hear of layoffs at Disney, people autmotically cry wolf. But sometimes things are neccesary, even though it's not good that people loose their jobs, but corporations tend to get "fat" in the wrong areas sometimes.

:D

P.S. - At least have the creative juices to create a NEW avatar (of me) instead of rehashing the past :p :p :p
