Waterpark Regional Entertainment

Hello all,
I got to thinking, there is really no "Disney" of the indoor water park/regional entertainment industry. Sure there is Kalahari, and Great Wolf Lodge....but at the end of the day...their water parks are still just water parks...and I got to thinking about ways to "plus" this. Why should every water park be composed of cheap thrill slides? Why isn't there a fully immersive water park that puts you in a place and makes you believe you are there...so here are some ideas I came up with.

One water park resort would be themed much like the Polynesian resort....the water park would be indoors with one of the clear UV sun roofs. It would be densely overgrown with jungle plants and trees creating a jungle canopy above the paths.

Almost all parks get guests to the slides via a large, unsightly wooden or steel tower. I want to change that, the starting point for the slides would be a large mountain with waterfalls and such. Ugly fiberglass tubing being the visible portion of the ride would be a thing of the past. Guests would dart in and out of mountain caves as they traveled down various streams.

The Signature ride would be a lazy river/thrill slide combo....guests would ride some sort of a water elevator/ "Mountain geyser" into a pool near the top of one of the mountains, where they would leisurely float into an underground river spanning caverns within. As they floated they would be presented an audio animatronic show/ride dealing with someone's escape from the jungle (or something like that, Indy Jones type deal, i don't know for sure yet.) There would be life guards posted throughout the ride as there would be portions where it would go from a lazy river into multiple slides....In effect...what would happen is....you would be in line for the slide....while being on the lazy river attraction. logistics of this would be mind boggling BUT if there is a will, there's a way.

The actual lazy river would be themed under real jungle canopy and have birds singing (tiki room type thing anyone?) and of course a wave pool.

I never claimed this resort would be cheap....BUT I feel that this is a huge thing....this park/resort would blow the Kalahari's and other resorts out of the water....it would become THE premier indoor water park resort.

Indoor water parks (or outdoor for that matter) have yet to be developed like they should be in my opinion.

This is just something I have been pondering and wanted to get opinions.

I've always thought the same thing myself, and this idea is wonderful! Heck, I even say create a lazy river/darkride combo! If the park is polynesian, maybe use Stitch...idk. I think Disney really oughta think about opening a park in the Dells though (I'm sure it's been considered). I'd think it'd be a great way to expand. Your ideas are fantastic! Keep em coming!

I know Disney or someone needs to do this...Sure the slides have gotten more daring but has the experience become any different? The Kalahari paints the walls a jungle theme and the stone but that is about it....I am talking make a big place like the Wilderness sun dome waterpark and have foliage and everything. Truly make it an experience, people in the cold states would flock there, it would be close and a Disney like experience in the winter.
