Water Taxis from Port Orleans Resort...

Does anyone happen to know if the water taxis are still shuttling people from the Port Orleans Resort to Downtown Disney? The reason I ask is because of the closure of Pleasure Island. We are going to be staying at Port Orleans Riverside during the regular season (October 17th through the 22nd). I know the do not operate during the value season. The ride at night is beautiful… We may switch to a value resort if this feature is no longer operating. Thank you for your input…

They still run - and I believe they operate year-round.

If by "Value Season" you mean winter, sometimes cold weather/high wind can shut down the boats on the Sassagoula River. I've been there in early December when it got too cold and windy on the water, the boat captains were bundled up in heavy jackets, and they eventually shut them down.

But if the weather is nice enough, they run them year-round.

We rarely travel outside of value season and I have never seen them not running. Of course as Rob pointed out they will shut them down for inclement weather but that is pretty rare.

We normally travel in December and yes, it was very cold and windy on a couple of our trips. We have also had beautiful December trips to Orlando as well. Now I understand the reason the water taxis were not operating. Thank you so much for the responses. It is much appreciated...

They were operating when we went in January 2008. But we haven't been there since.
