Water Shoes at Water Parks?

Do they allow the wearing of water shoes at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon? If not, we won't pack them. Thanks.

They do allow them, although I never use them. I wear flip flops, and then go barefoot, except when using the bathroom. Public bathrooms just gross me out in general, so I'm certainly not going in one without shoes.

I wish we had them at TL. The sidewalk was SO hot in places that walking around without anything on the feet really hurt! This was 5 years ago, so maybe they've done something to improve this (sprinklers to keep the sidewalks wet?)

I'd bring them anyway!

They come in handy on rainy days and days that we go to on the Kali River Rapids ride at Animal Kingdom.

Its also fun to take a spontaneous run through WDW fountains when the mood strikes without worrying about having wet sneakers all week afterwards!

I was at BB a few weeks ago and went barefoot. I wish I had some flip flops or water shoes. BB keeps their sidewalks wet, so it wasn't hot, but man, did my feet hurt at the end of the day. I was jealous of those who had them.

You have to hold them on speed slides as previously stated.

After just visiting BB I can tell you that they do allow water shoes and I would highly recommend that you bring them! While they do have some sprinklers to help keep the sidewalks wet, there are areas that got extremely hot and also the pavement is not so comfortable on the feet after a while. While I walked around barefoot and would probably do so again, it would be easier if you wore shoes to help your poor feet out.

As the famous commercial says, "Don't leave home without it!" We used our Aqua Socks last year at Water Country USA (which is a wonderful waterpark) and they worked great! Have fun and be sure to log a trip report when you come back!

Yes, but not on the speed slides (ie Summit Plummit and Slush Gusher @ BB) :)

As stated, they allow them in the parks and are highly recommended!

On a few slides at each park, they will make you remove them and hold them while you slide down....

i agree as well. because the last thing anyone wants from going John/Joan McClane (a.k.a. going barefoot) is blistered, sore feet

p.s. as i mentioned once, the whole "going john mcclane" thing is a reference to die hard 1 in which bruce willis' character was barefoot for most of the movie

I wore my Teavs last June and had no problems. I took them off for the rides that required it and just held them. One thing, make sure to put sunscreen on your feet, or they will get burned ( I learned the hard way).
