Water parks and Disney Quest

Hi everybody. Starting to plan my family's next trip. We have never done either of the water parks or Disney quest. I'm looking for some real information like would we be able to spend all day at these places? If not how much time is needed. nd which of these parks would you suggest or skip. Thanks!

I can't talk about Disney Quest but the water parks you certainly could spend all day at the water parks. It all is going to depend if you are the people who like water parks.

It all depends upon you.

I have friends that says Disney Quest is the best thing at Disney. I hate it. I don't play video games. My son does but not for hours, so Disney Quest had limited appeal for him.

We both love the water parks. My son was timid about roller coasters but would go down any water slide. We have only been to Blizzard Beach and it was great. You could definitly spend all day there.

So, It all depends upon you.

Disney Quest is a 5 story aracde with unique arcade and virtual reality games. If you like video games, you could sepnd a lot of time there.

Water Parks are great, if that is your thing. The Disney water parks are always rated best in the USA.

You know in the past we've gotten the "Water Parks and More" add on for every trip in the past and we've never actually used them. In all my Disney trips I've never set foot in the water parks.

Both of the water parks are awesome. It would not be hard to spend the entire day at either, but I tend to start getting a little bored about 4-5 hours into it. They are great for an off park day. Hit the water parks first thing in the morning followed by round or two of mini-golf and a nice relaxing dinner.

What can I say about Disney Quest....Well, if I was given free tickets to Disney Quest and it was raining cats and dogs, I would still find something better to do. I have been a computer gamer since the arcades of the early 80's so a place like DQ should be a slice of heaven to me. The reality is that the headlining games in DQ are not quite as good graphically as your average Wii. The classic arcade games there barely work, if at all. If Disney were to strip the place to the bare walls and install noting but Xbox 360s and PS3s it would be a vast improvement.

Disney Quest is the biggest waste of time and money. VERY dated. As @Master Yoda says, I too would rather buy an xbox and stay in my room on a rainy day than go there for free. Could be so much more than it is :(

A Typhoon Lagoon fan here. We can spend, and have spent, a whole day there because we are beach people. I agree that you could relax and still enjoy the various parts of a water part in 4-5 hours. Any faster than that and you would miss something or not unwind. We really enjoy shark reef even if the salt water is kept refreshingly cool. Wave pool is fun to try to bodysurf in. Plenty of varied water rides. Background music is a blast. We make at least one trip to the waterpark during every trip to WDW.

You will definitely be able to spend all day at the waterparks no problem. I definitely recommend you getting there early. Depending on when you go, the waterpardk close at 5p. Summer months I'm pretty sure they are open to 8p.

As for Disney Quest. I don't really think that is a place you spend all day. What we did was spend an entire evening there after the parks.

When my son was 12-13, he'd have happily spent all day, every day in DisneyQuest. I could never stand that place and left him to it while I shopped. He was thrilled with that arrangement as he has never enjoyed standing around while I shopped, anyway. I think it's in the male genes or something.

I haven't been in there in years and don't know what it's like these days. I wouldn't take kids younger than 8-10, though.

Water parks - depends on if you like them. The slides are fun, but if you don't get to them early, you can wait forever on busy days to ride them. Lazy rivers are nice...not as relaxing as you'd imagined, perhaps, but pleasant. If I arrive at a water park for opening, I usually leave around four or five. They really are a lot of fun, IMO.

Bring your Coppertone Sport! It is, IMO, the best sunblock for the water parks. Apply it in the morning and, just for the hell of it, re-apply after a few hours of riding slides and hanging out in pools and stuff! So many people get terrible burns at the water parks! Really bad burns. And that stuff WORKS.

Have fun!

Disney Quest - I haven't been there since 2009 & it was horribly outdated then! I would never go back!

Waterparks - We've been to both & they are a lot of fun. I prefer Typhoon Lagoon over Blizzard Beach. Maybe since I'm from Wisconsin the last thing I wanted to see was fake snow??? I would set aside a full day for that. Maybe have dinner planned for your resort that night or something. Being in water and sun for a whole day can really wear you out!

DisneyQuest is a bit of a fail. But you should defintitely consider the water parks. I'm a little more partial to Typhoon Lagoon, simply because its seems a little less crowded, even on busy days. Plan on at least a 1/2 day at a water park.

Thanks to all for the great info! Sounds like we will skip Disney Quest. Also sounds like most people prefer Typhoon vs Blizzard is that correct? So looks like we will be visiting Typhoon on our next visit.
