Watching the game near MK?

Is there any place near the Magic Kingdom to catch an NFL game? I'm traveling with someone who takes their football very seriously and wants to try to catch the game during our trip,

That is the only place I can come up with too. If we were at any other park I would move our plans around. But we have Be Our Guest for dinner and a FP for the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. All during game time. Oh well, if he watches it on his phone I won't be offended.

at the magic kingdom, no, unless you are staying in one of the resorts nearby and can go back to the room to watch it. I would recommend Splitsville as a great location to watch. Food is excellent as well. We watched the first half of the Super Bowl there a few years ago, and we watched the NCAA national title game at ESPN Club once as well. I preferred Splitsville.

I can't imagine any ball game being important enough for me to want to watch when I could be sharing quality time with my wife at BOG. I guess everyone has their priorities. Seems selfish at best, but that is just my opinion. NFL games are every week for several months. How often are you at MK?

It is my nephew, and he has become my Disney Travel Buddy. This is our second trip this year, so I think I can cut him some slack when it comes to watching a game for 3 hours out of our day. :p I know it is important to him, so I'm not offended.
Yeah, I suppose that is different. Hope you both have a good trip.

I know we watched some football from Tambu Lounge in the Poly one night, but ...
1. that was an evening game
2. the one game being shown appeared to be local coverage

We did walk by ESPN at BW back in November on a Sunday and DH was tempted to go in to watch until he saw the crazy crowds. So, he just wore his jersey around for the day and that was it. I do have to say that I really enjoy Saturdays and Sundays at WDW during football season just to see the parade of jerseys (NCAA and NFL).

I'm the same way, in the fall I need my Saturday college football and Sunday NFL football. I'll usually go to splitsville and watch the games that or in the room if it's available. Worst case I'll just set up my alerts on my phone. Most resorts will show at least a game in the lounges

You may want to try Wave at the Contemporary! A friend and I wanted to catch the tail end of a game and the bartender was more than happy to change the channel so we could see it.

We have played golf at Shades of Green without any military id and ate in one of the restaurants after we were finished, didn't have any problems.

Depends on the television schedule. There's usually a game on in the lounges in the hotels. I watched the (sadly losing) end of a Cowboys game in the lounge outside of Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge.

Yes guests are totally welcome to golf and dine at Evergreens Sports bar! Though I am not sure if everyone is allowed to dine at the other restaurants or shop in the resorts stores. I know for certain that if you do not have the proper ID's you can not shop inside the AFFES

Yes, they allow you in to play golf and eat at the sports bar but that's about as far and as much of the resort as you can access. And if you aren't military/DoD, being there for golf is the only other way you are getting in. They don't have a staffed gate for nothing.
