watching illumanations

Well, first its spelled 'Illuminations'. Not to get picky on people's spellings, typos, etc BUT please at least spell the name of the show correctly.

IMO, dead center in Showcase Plaza (Go Nick!) or in the UK. Some people like it from Japan on the balcony (never tried that) and some like it from Italy.

As long as youre not behind a tree, you'll have a good view.

yupp.. dead center facing the US pavillion is THE way to go.. you get a great, unobstructed view of EVERY country, great view of the globe.. and get the full affect of the lasers -trust me, they're not nearly as impressive from anywhere else around the lagoon. anyway, all-around great spot.. and maybe it's just me ?? but lately ive been able to walk up minutes to show time, with no problem at all.. can't help but wonder where the crowds of 10 years ago went..

-does anyone else remember back when we literally had to be lined up around the lagoon 15-30 min before the show to get a great spot..?

ah yes... memories...

I don't know exactly where it's located, but it's a balcony (between France and Italy?) and there is a bridge that is connected there as well. We had a great view of the show.

Where is your favorite spot to watch illuminations?

First of all, as near as I can tell, you spelled Illuminations correctly - unless you count the capital I, which doesn't usually count in a chat room or bulletin board, haha.

My favorite spot is on the bridge between Future World and Mexico. My friends and I claimed a section of the concrete railing on the lake-side. We took turns getting snacks and drinks and were only there about 45 minutes.

We sat on the wall when we got tired of standing, and Cast Members kept telling us to get down (so we'd just get right back up, haha!). Anyway, that's my favorite spot - PERFECT view, and quick access to the exit.

I never go to one specific spot to watch it.

I always go to the half of World Showcase that is at the tail end of the wind (so I don't get smoke in my face)

After that, it's just a matter of finding a spot w/an unobstructed view.

hah.. not in my book!

lol, i'll admit wishes is an impressive show, however for me personally, nothing quite does what illuminations does for me.. a trip to disney is not a real trip to disney until i've seen ROE at least once..!

We send one person with a walkie-talkie to the Rose and Crown about 1 1/2 hours before Illuminations. They enter just to the left of the seating area, and there is a small eating area with tables that anyone can use. We grab a couple right next to the wall and trade places back and forth while some of us shop. It's perfect viewing and it is very low stress getting the spot. I think people miss it because they assume that R&C customers only can use the area.

When we are all together again, we grab some fish and chips from the counter service spot outside of R&C. They are my favorite counter service spot in the world. Yum.

They also sell great Bass Ale right there at the entrance to R&C

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Dont tell!

LOL!

Uusally watch IllumiNations from the Norway area s__________g down some Norwegian pastries from Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe.

New Years always in Japan at the dance party, and view behind the arch overlooking Epcot, then you can see MK's and MGMs too! And its a very wide walkway so it feels not crowded.

BoardWalk area is another pleasant place to be when the fireworks go off and you forgot Illuminations was going to be on.
