Was Walt a Freemason?

Is this an urban legend? Or is this pretty much true? Whenever I look at Cinderella's castle one could only wonder if there is a small mason logo within it..Sure I'm probably wrong big time on this...but it makes you think on how that MK was built in such a short amount of time...

Walt was dead when Cinderella Castle was built...

That doesn't really matter.

Walt was a 33rd degree Freemason. If you do a search for "famous Freemasons" you might be surprised to see who is on the list...and those are just the people who admit the fact publicaly.

One must wonder how accurate that list is...

The Freemasons haven't had much (if anything) to do with masonry for at least the last 250 years. My dad is a former Grand Master of a Masonic lodge and I know for a fact that his home improvement skills are hardly adequate for replacing a light switch, let alone laying bricks.:D

As for Walt being a Mason; it's entirely possible. The Masons are a social club/charitable organization and not a guild, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he had been a member.

I have examined many lists and his name does appear on a large proportion of them. And if he was? What difference does that make?

To me? None. Some people are afraid of the Freemasons because of their secretivness. *shrugs*

I too have seen this reaction and am always a bit puzzled. I don't happen to know much about members of the DVC - that doesn't mean I am scared of them or think they are evil. (well not all of them :lookaroun )

My husband is a Freemason.
Their "secrecy" has more to do with rituals and traditions relating to their vast history than anything that could be considered covert.
They are a world-wide benevolent society and are reknown for the good they do for community and country.
Just this past week in Philadelphia, Freemasons gathered to hold a "funeral" for Benjamin Franklin, who was a Mason. It was a solemn and dignified event and epitomized what the organization is about.
Nine signers of the Declaration of Independence and 14 American Presidents were Freemasons.
Walt Disney was an "honorary" 33rd Degree Mason and was a member of the DeMolay, the Masonic youth-group.
Whether Walt was an actual Mason or not, his contributions to society are exemplary of the Masonic institution.

No - nobody knows who Jack the Ripper was - hence the mystery. Not knowing who he was makes it a little difficult to comment on his hobbies.

Ohh.. Then I must have read somewhere that a suspect was a freemason... Guess nothing ever came of that...

Well, so what is Walt was a Freemason.. Look at the list of Freemasons...

Walt was never a actual Mason, just given the "honorary" title. I was part of DeMolay as a teenager and that was his only venture into the Masonic world. I even wrote to Dave Smith and he wrote back with the chapter he was part of. There is at least 1 DeMolay Chapter named after Walt, the one I know of is in Anaheim, but I am sure there are more.

Mr.Pickles wonders if you truly knew what freemasons, the illuminiti, or the knights templar were all about if you would still go to the parks.

Mr.Pickles thinks somethings are better left unsaid......

Mr.Pickles tip of the day:

Mr.Pickles thinks the internet is a goldmine of information, you can find the answers to ALOT of questions there.

The DVC is a secret organization that actually controls most of the world's governments, money, and 2 bedroom villas. Their secret greeting to other members is 'Welcome Home'.

I've already said too much. I don't want to lose my membership. You didn't hear this from me.:lookaroun
