Was anyone at the 3:15-ish Monsters Laugh Floor Show yesterday?!

Hi everyone,

I'm in the middle of my Disney trip right now and need a pretty huge favor. This request will be a severe long shot but it's the only place I can think to ask where someone might help.

Yesterday afternoon (Sunday) I was at the 3:15pm-ish Monsters Laugh Floor show and I got an unexpected surprise in the form of being picked to be part of the show! They put me on camera and put me on the screen wanting me to act like Randall and I nailed it. Everyone in the audience thought I was a riot and their laughter lasted several seconds easily. The Monsters on stage went :0 and quipped "He's REAL good!!"

That has been by far the best part of my trip so far..was ANYONE at all from these forums there at the 3:15-ish show!? And if so did anyone happen to record that particular show? Would anyone who may have been at that show be willing to share it with me please? What a time to NOT have a recording capable phone or my iPad with me!! What happened yesterday will probably never happen again either :( I realize this is a severe long shot that'll depend on someone having been at that specific show yesterday but I have to at least try. I have some friends and family who would find my having been part of that show hilarious. If no one can help I understand :)

I have been picked to be Mike multiple (more than 4 times). I have also gotten chosen in the preshow as a monster behind someone. And the last few times have had a interesting conversation with Sam and Ella. Ella was having to much fun with me and sang me a love song. Just last week I interacted with Buddy, who's esp was easily fouled. I enjoy greatly messing with them, and they me.

P.S. I was also once the churro's guy.

I know your plight. A couple of years ago, just before we did Monsters, Inc. for the first time, my wife decided to tie up our little girl's dark hair in pigtails. During the show, the monsters retold the story of Monsters, Inc., using close-ups of audience members to stand in for the main characters. My daughter was picked as Boo, undoubtedly because she had her hair in the same style, and wore a shirt similar to the little girl's in the movie. It was a great thrill for my daughter, but of course we had no video or pictures to show for the experience. We ended up taking a picture of our daughter in front of the sign to have some memento of the event.

If you ever do get picked, make sure to do "unexpected" things. Don't just blindly follow them, as it makes the show longer and funnier.

Exactly. At first I saw the white spotlight come on and it was straight ahead so I'm thinking okay they're gonna pick someone either in my row or the row right in front if or behind me. I had a feeling when I got into the theatre something might happen, but just blew it off. I didn't think for a second my intuition would be right, at least with that.

When I showed up on the screen it took a few seconds to realize it was me due to being surprised. The surprised look on my face got the audience good and then the monsters on stage said something like "Randall loves to disappear!" Or "He's really good at disappearing!" At that point the light bulb went off in my head, and I ducked my head down below the seat, like I could actually see the bottom part of the dang seat! The audience lost it at that point because where I wedged my head into, the audience couldn't see me at all so it looked like I really did disappear! The monsters on stage literally went :0 and said "he's gooood!" "Yeah REAL good!" "Maybe he really did disappear!"It actually took me several seconds to get un-wedged from under the seat! I finally got back into the seat and they just lost it again due to the look on my face. It was great!

I really wish I could have captured it, I'm still hoping maybe someone will come through for me, but I know that's unlikely :( At least you managed to get a picture memento. At least I have my few moments of fame to remember forever.

I LOVE the Laugh Floor. Maybe it's not quite in the right location, but it's always a fun show and a great crowd-pleaser. Glad you got your "break". It is a shame there's no way for you to get a recording of your performance. I suppose it wouldn't be practical for Disney to offer them...

It really bugs me that the Laugh Floor only has one set of pre-scripted vignettes (with Roz and Mike) that play every single time.
The attraction has a lot of repeat potential, and it's not as if the animation used anywhere is Pixar-quality, so why didn't they have the foresight to whip up 5-6 extra "anchor" bits to play in rotation? Maybe have a branching storyline ability to let the puppeteers adjust the story depending on whether or not the audience is involved enough (or big enough) to "fill the can".
It has a lot of potential and I can't imagine it would be too terribly expensive, though I bet the pipeline from ops back to imagineering over to whoever animated/voiced these segments is a one-way street.

Very good points. Maybe someday the LF will get an upgrade, and new bits will be recorded. I agree that wouldn't be all that expensive...

We went three times during our trip last month. I love Sam & Ella the best. Could do without the in your face Monsters University references though.

Along with many others, I think it would be a better fit over at DHS. You know, in that 1-attraction-land called Pixar Place ....

Remember to bump this thread up over the next few weeks for those of us that don't look at forums while at WDW very closely.

And my DS who is a CM knew exactly where to have us sit and placed my DD there. We made a trip down there for her Sweet 16th Birthday and yep she was picked.

Sorry, I can't help OP- I know how you feel. I was just there with Mom for Mickey's Not So Scary, and when we went to the Laugh Floor, it was one of the funniest shows we've seen there, and we've been several times.

Lots of people were in costumes, and they were integrating that into the show. I was in my Thor costume, and not only was I picked for "churro guy", but Mike's cousin told a joke about a thumb hit with a hammer, with the punch line "boy, was I thor," and I'm up on the screen again, LMAO! A couple other costumes got noted, and everyone was really into it, which of course makes it better.

We had a great time at MNSSHP.

As I was leaning over to whisper something in my daughter's ear with our matching Minnie Mouse Ears, we were suddenly on the screen. Mike said look they must be related. They have matching ears. We laughed about it the rest of the night.
