Has anyone ever seen a raccoon wandering around the bushes in the smoking areas among the Barbados village?
I was there last year (4th time) and around midnight one night after we came back from mk I popped out for a cigarette, as I walked past the bushes I saw what I thought was either a cat or a smallish dog.
The animal briefly showed it's head above the small shrubs and I thought it looked like a raccoon, but I didn't believe my eyes. I carried on walking to the benched area and another lady was sat at one of the tables with her laptop open. I asked her if she had ever seen any animals around the area, she said no and asked why. I said that I thought I'd seen a raccoon....... Just as I said that the bushes behind us rustled and out jumped the raccoon. She laughed and said, what like that one?
The animal then put it's paw and nose into the litter bin next to the bench I was going to sit on. It withdrew it's paw and looked at us, then scarpered.
Both of us looked at each other and laughed.
I've seen ducks, turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, rats, cats and snakes - But I've never seen a raccoon there before!
