Walt Disney World Swan $194 a Night

Is $194 a reasonable nightly rate, during late September, for the Walt Disney World Swan? We are planning a weekend visit for the first or second week of the Epcot Food & Wine Festival.

we stayed there last year after spending 4 days at Kidani village to spend our last night on Disney property. This was the worst decision of the whole week. Rooms were disgusting, dirty and the staff was not friendly. Not a Disney resort. You would be better off staying on 192 at the Hampton inn. Just my 2 cents.

Is it reasonable for you? I love the Swan and Dolphin hotels, never had any issues. The Swan has the white tea scent being pumped throughout which is my favorite thing. Only downside is that all the dining is located in the Dolphin.

Can't comment on how reasonable it is as we get package trips from UK so can't comment on the rates but swan and dolphin have always been great and we've never had any of the issues some report on here...

Just because it doesn't have Disney carpet and characters on the wall doesn't mean it's not great value, clearly some have a biased view against on here as its 'non disney'

I stayed here last September and was disappointed. It wasn't that it wasn't Disney themed, but the rooms were run down, carpets were ripped, panels coming loose on elevator, etc. I was told afterwards that they were plans to renovate, but I am not sure if that happen or not.

i wouldn't listen to somebody with one post....ever. swan and dolphin are often considered very fair shakes as far as on property goes. and if any of the above issues were present i know the resort staff would have taken care of it....sad....sad.

We stayed at the dolphin in march. They swan and dolphin are sister hotels sharing many facilities including pools and restaurants. I actually thought they both had some restaurants, but we didn't check out the swan much. Prices are pretty similar between hotels.

The swan and dolphin are on par with the deluxe hotels, with less disney theming however. They are really nice and I would easily stay there again.

As for price, it depends. If there is a discount running at disney, you might find some deluxes pretty cheap, but rarely that cheap. So without doing research I'd say yes, that is a decent deal.

Keep in mind you cannot get the dining plan there, cannot use magical express, and must pay a parking fee if you have a car. Also there is a nightly activity fee that is required. Be sure to check out the whole price with everything. I suspect even with everything added in and discounts on a disney room, you'll find the swan and dolphin at at least 20% cheaper than the deluxes in the area (board walk beach and yacht). Only the akl and WL are possible to be lower, and that would be unlikely as well.

We decided after our last trip that we preferred to other hotels at wdw. And the price is usually lower, so we would definitely stay there again.

There are several very good dining locations at the Swan.

Renovations are ongoing at the swan and dolphin. I think the swan is almost complete. The renovated rooms are very nice and similar to Disney moderate resort rooms. Please remember that parking is extra and there is a resort fee. Take this into consideration when comparing rates. The swan and dolphin are not Disney owned so don't expect pixie dust. The location can't be beat. You are steps away from the boardwalk and walking distance to Epcot and the studios. I have stayed here many times and have never had an issue.

One more thing!! I just noticed that you are going for Food and Wine. The proximity to Epcot is worth $194/night+parking and resort fees. I doubt you could get that close to Epcot at a Disney resort for that price. Entering Epcot through the International Gateway whether on foot or by boat is very special in itself. I don't think you would regret the swan or dolphin.
