The second annual Walt Disney World Inline Marathon returns to the Vacation Kingdom May 2, 2004, in conjunction with the International Inline Skating Association and the National Skate Patrol.

For the past decade, runners have had the opportunity to "run around the world" as part of the Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon. In 2003, the Vacation Kingdom offered inline skaters a similar thrill with the creation of a 26.2-mile skating event through the Walt Disney World theme parks and other Disney resort areas.

Following the success of the inaugural event, registration capacity will increase from 1,500 to 2,000 participants.

Entry fees received on or before April 1 are $70 for the Inline Marathon and $50 for the 13.1-mile Inline Half Marathon. Entries received April 2-29 are $80 (Marathon) and $60 (Half Marathon), respectively. The entry fee is non-refundable and no race day registration will be available.

Disney's Inline Marathon weekend kicks off with a skate and fitness expo on May 1 at The Milk House at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. For more information on Disney's Inline Marathon, guests may check online at disneyworldsports.com.

I'll make sure to stay clear of wdw then (it gets kinda crowded and they close lanes on the road...atleast the last marathon with the runners was like that)....don't want any skaters running into my car or vice versa....:lookaroun

I volunteered at the Inline Marathon last year and it was pretty much over by 9 am. They don't close as many roads as they do for the Marathon. It was a lot of fun.
