Riding the boat from Downtown Disney to POFQ one afternoon, this family sitting behind us was talking and the older lady said about Cinderella's Castle, "Walt Disney lived there for awhile." This duly impressed her family. I'm guessing she was confused about the apartment at Disneyland, but it was not in the castle there.
After hearing this and several other things that were flat out wrong, including he is buried there, I leaned over and said Walt Disney died in 1966, long before the castle was even built.
The lady looked at me like I was the idiot and told me she knows what she read, quite rudely. I just smiled and said, OK, sorry.
How can someone so wrong be so convinced they are correct?

Hate people like that but being me I always have to be right so I whip out my phone and show them haha

Most of the time I sit back and laugh but if they are spouting complete BS then I usually feel the need to butt in lol

That's when a game show bursts out of nowhere and you two go at it with Disney Trivia! Then she'd realize she's a stupid I'malwaysrightandneverwrong type person. Then you walk away with the grand prize of a free margarita at Epcot's Mexico and you can gloat in her face.

I really need a vacation....

Disney likes to claim that the room which became the Dream Suite was initially designed as Walt Disney's apartment in the Magic Kingdom, but as you rightly noted Walt Disney died not only before the start of construction but also the start of serious design work. The Magic Kingdom that Walt Disney showed the world in "The EPCOT Film" was an exact copy of Disneyland.

The stories you hear while on any mode of Disney transportation is alot of time comical, if not down right wrong. All I do is smile, as my son kicks my foot and says "arent you going to say something?!?!" I say "Nahh... why spoil a dream" LOL I heard one gentleman exclaim that the horses at Disney are retired horses from Budweiser, and we know they arent clydesdales! LOL Another said that Walt Disney built the train at MK, with his bare hands... ummm OK LOL

Happens on here all the time.

My wife taught me to let this go a long time ago, as long as it's not hurting anyone. I did stop a cast member one time giving false information about the Fantasyland expansion to a group of onlookers, but that is a different scenario.
