I've met one or two. They're great naturally. The biggest Imagineer I've met was Eric Jacobson back on May 5th, 2005. I forget, he got promoted to one of the really big wigs at WDI now, right? Alien Encounter, Mission Space, RNR, Soarin', Tower. You name it, he's worked on it.

I'd really love to meet Tony Baxter and thank for him Indiana Jones Adventure, but I don't think he comes down here too much. We did after all, take away Dreamfinder AND 20K.

I had 2 phone interviews with WDI at the Orlando "branch" last year. Never did get to meet them in person but I was talking to the 1st and 2nd in command for the parks there.

I've had the fortune to spend a few minutes talking with the great Marty Sklar, whom our group ran into at Celebration 25. I've also been very fortunate to have spoken on several occasions with Alex Wirght, who may be best-known to the general public as the (often-uncredited) author of the "Imagineering Field Guide to..." series of books. Both of these gents are true class acts.

And I'm hoping to add a few more imagineers to that list during the "A Wild Decade" event at AK this April.

By my current plan, you most definitely will.

*Cough*Nice Plug*Cough*

I'm pretty sure he was just saying that since it is known that one of my biggest side projects on each of the events is to have surprise visitors, and some surprises, not even our core team is aware of. I work in mysterious ways when dealing with WDW Management... :animwink::lol::animwink:

As for Imagineers, I've had the pleasure of meeting Marty Sklar, Alex Wright, Bob Zalk, and several more in various places (here or there)... All of them are extremely nice and hospitable!

I've met Marty Sklar and Tony Baxter. I also had a personal letter from Tony Baxter that he wrote me years ago after I wrote to him about how to get into WDI. I thought it was really nice that he took the time to write a 2-page letter and addressed each of my specific questions. A real stand up guy!

I networked with an imagineer at the magic kingdom during my college program in the spring/summer 2006

What was one thing I learned???

They usually ALWAYS 99.9% of the time hire someone who has had at least 10 years of experience outside of imagineering.

So for all you current college grads who dream of being the next tony baxter, go work in the parks or somewhere other than disney, do well, and then apply once you have gotten some good experience elsewhere.

Oh, and it always looks good for someone to have there Masters degree as well to go on there resume.
