Walt Disney Country Resort: Open Brainstorming

Okay i am going to do this different than the other threads i have done. I would love participation from everyone and anyone on this project. I have thought up a huge european disney resort. So here it is with the parks and lands. SO let the brainstorming Begin... ALso are the planned icons for the park and the theme if you dont understand....

Disneyland- the classic DL with a twist, (Beast's Castle)
-Main Street- 1920s theme

Creature Kingdom- a larger version of DAK (Tree of Life on Bug's Island)
-Oasis- main street/ entrance area

Port Disney- a different version of DisneySEA (Mt. Promenthus, unless can think of any other land or icon to be center, but we will get to that later)
-American Waterfront- entrance area/ take over Mediterranan Harbor in TOkyo

-Grecian Gardens
-Paradise Pier
-Arabian Coast
-Oceania
**Great Barrier Reef

Disney's European Adventure- a sort of mix of Epcot's WOrld SHowcase and that tell the storyies of some of Disney's Fairy Tales and the orginal (Alps)

-Germany

Disney's Discoveyland- large tomorrowland/discoveryland/future world (SPaceship Earth in water)

Walt Disney Studios Europe- Disney's Hollywood studios (Grauman's Chinese Theater)

Ok so there are the listings of the parks and lands... Lets start with Disneyland. SO see that lands so try not to think of anything that would fit better in certain areaa. So start brainstorming. Any questions ask? I will try to help suggest and guide.

I think those are some good ideas for parks. The one thing I'm not sure about the the "Creature Kingdom" name. Maybe it's just me though. What if you changed it to "Disney's Wild Kingdom" or "Disney's Animal Adventure" (the last one may not be too good.)

Yeah i know i was going to fix the name when we get to that park.... I like the Wild Kingdom...

Can I ask where this resort would be located? Cause the studios park said Europe, but Europe is vast, and consists of a lot of varying cultures, so do we have a more specific location?

That is a good point i dont really know where... Hmm.. Lets go with France still and that Disneyland Resort Paris is not there for these purposes... is that ok... THanks for the insight though....

Here are a few ideas for the Disneyland..

Main Street- 1920s theme, proposed DLP
Critter COuntry- to have splash mountain
ToonTown- Chip N Dale Nut COmpany, a walkthough/ dr through CandD's nut company
Fantasyland- Beast's Castle
*** Be OUr Guest- AA show
Adventureland- Voodoo type Haunted Mansion
Westernland- Western River Rlrd.
*** Western River eexpedition

Can I make a Few Suggestions. If you're going for a European Resort, I Would Suggest not putting in Paris, for a few different reasons. There already is one in paris, first of all, and I think that it's more fun to consider what's come before instead of saying, well, that doesn't exist. So, Obviously this is your resort and you can do what you like, but I would suggest a different location. If you're dead Set on Europe then Might I suggest London, Madrid, Berlin, or Rome, otherwise some other Ideas could be The UAE (Dubai), Sydney, Austrailia. or Beijing or Shanghai. Just a few suggestians.

If it is european, can I suggest you change the name Westernland to Frontierland? Europeans understand "Frontier" as meaning the American Southwest, whereas the only reason it's called Westernland at Tokyo is because that is more easily translatable and understandable to that culture.

If you do decide to move the resort to Elsewhere in Europe, I would suggest sticking with the original Turn of the Century theme for main street, as much of the market may have already experianced Disneyland Paris' 1920s version, and it would give them a new street to see. If you move the resort to anywhere outside of Europe, I would highly encourage the 1920s version of Main Street, as it may be more relatable, and it would be different from the other main streets.

Can I ask why no tomorrowland? When Walt Created Disneyland, it was a world of Yesterday, Tomorrow, and Fantasy, and Tomorrowland was a vital part of that. It seems silly not to include it in some form...Unless that form is Dream Port...What is Dream Port?

Other Suggestians for Magic Kingdom Park Staples- (Tomorrowland Notwithstanding)
Mickey's Philharmagic
it's a small world
Pirates of the Carribbean (Either based on the original ride, or something new based on the movie franchise, as the second and third movies actually made more internationally then domestically)

And some questions to consider
Which of the Fantasyland style dark rides do you want in the park? It's best not to go overboard with the dark rides, but also they are a staple, but now there are a lot to choose from.
Peter Pan's Flight
Pinnochio's Daring Journey
Snow White's Scary Adventure
The Little Mermaid
Pooh's Hunny Hunt
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Or you could try your hand at some new Dark Rides (Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, or whatever else for Example)

Couple of Other Things on the Resort in General.

I agree about the Creature Kingdom Name, especially since you seem to want to go for a much more realistic version. Also, Having the Park's Icon be on an island devoted to bugs may not be the greatest idea, as a lot of people (myself included) don't like bugs.

As far as Discoveryland goes, I noticed that you included Sci-Fi City, which seems completely and totally out of place, as you basically seem to be going for a park similar to EPCOT's Future World. and I really don't understand how Sci-Fi City would fit into place here.

With the European Adventure park...Is the goal here to be like World Showcase, and create detailed reconstructions of Various European Cities, or is it to celebrate European Culture? Because the park is in Europe, and those cities and places are much more closer to home to the Europeans then to us, and it would be a slippery slope. Can you imagin what would happen if Disney had randomly brought in Designers from Europe to Built the proposed "Disney's America" Park? I might have found in Insulting as an American.

I see your point on the European thing. So i feel better by moving it to Australia, a farther away to do more...

ALso, i really didnt think of the name for Frontierland to be it i just thought of it to be Westernland... But good point on Frontierland, renamed...

Since i am moving it out of Europe, i think i will stick with the 1920s Theme of main street....

Originally i didnt put Tomorrowland because of the park Discoveryland, but i am changing that because Discoveryland will be like a big Future World, so I am moving Tomorrowland back to the Disneyland...Featuring Space Mountain and such... suggestions? Dream Port is a small land based on the Imagination pavilion from Epcot. It would feature a updated origainal verson of JiI... and a show Maybe?

Suggested attractions.. I like maybe PHilharmagic could go into ToonTown and small world could go into Fantasyland.. with PotC in adventureland. I think the PotC would be themed to the movies with a splashmountain type attraction.. WHat do you think? (it would take place in a mountain)

Back to the European park Disney's European Adventure is themed to the countires of continent. It would feature the countries with there history and such.. but also feature attractions and shows based on folklore and fairy tales from there regions. Liek Snow White in Germany, or Peter Pan and ALice in Wonderland in United Kingdom... ANd origainl folklore from Irealand and Spain, etc. (what do you think?) more research has to be done to get better ideas and such.. Any suggestions?

I was debating whether or not to put Little Mermaind in Fantasyland or Port Disney's Oceania, ideas? Pooh would probably go into the Critter COuntry as maybe a subland of 100 Acre Wood.. I was planning on maybe a Mary Poppins and Sleeping Beauty dark ride in Fantasyland that i have created.... (might be posted soon) Pinocchio might be in Italy pavilion... at DEA

To Creature Kingdom (still trying to find new name), bugs island will be themed to the pixar film A Bug's Life, maybe. Or i might just scrap that idea and think of a new land... I didnt want a Discvoery Island because it would be confused with Discoveryland park.. (what do you think?)

NOw with adding Tomorrowland in DL there is no need for Sci Fi City, it was suppose to be where the people kept the Aliens and such, like a toontown area, but not any more. I will move Alien Attack to Tomorrowland... (more suggestions for DL Tomorrowland welcomed)
