Walt Disney Company Dividend Check!

Today I received my Disney Shareholder dividend check. In past years, I have usually cashed the check and paid the income taxes. However this year, I decided to roll over the money and buy more Disney stock. This will serve to defer my tax consequences. I chose this route for some other reasons as well.

Now that Roy Disney and Stanley Gold have left the company, virtually all stock analysts have considered this a strong indication that the company will improve. With Michael Eisner guiding the company and the fact that Disneyland will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2005, I have little doubt that the stock prices will grow by 30% or more during fiscal year 2004.

Roy Disney and Stanley Gold continue in their attempts to sabotage Disney stock in the vain hope that shareholders will rise up in a proxy battle to remove Michael Eisner as CEO. So far, they have been spitting in the wind and making fools of themselves in the process. With a 2003 calendar year growth of 43% in Disney stock price, I don't think shareholders have anything to complain about right now.

So, rather than sign useless petitions to "save Disney", I decided to put my money where my mouth is! How about you?

I'd be careful though, things could go bad quicker than they can get better...especially now a days.

Oh yes, I know what you mean. I divested myself of ALL stocks as of January, 2000 to avoid the slump. However, went back in on March 11, 2003. All economic indicators are good right now through fiscal 2004 at least. Any judgment beyond is just speculative. :animwink:
