Here's what I have heard:

They stopped selling the Walk Around The World bricks because of low sales of the Leave a Legacy things at EPCOT. For the longest time, when given a choice of the two, people were buying the Bricks so Disney stopped selling them.

My guess is they will resume selling the Walk Around The World Bricks when the Leave a Legacy "Tombstones" get filled up.

It seems to me that the cost of a brick back in '98 was $150, not $40 or $50. Maybe the price has gone down since then because any brick sold now would be so far from the "beaten path". In 1998, $150 got my brick placed at the ticket booths near the TTC....pretty far away! BTW, you have no control over where your brick is placed.

Ok. I promise this is correct.

Walk around the world bricks are sold out. When they were for sale the price ranged from 90-130 dollars.

Leave a Legacy (the large granite stones in front of epcot that you can have your picture engraved on) is still available and the price ranges from 30-40 dollars.

Disneyfan1313. Do you know/do you remember what the difference was between a $90 brick, and a $130 brick? It seems to me that the $130 brick was made out of granite, or something, and the $90 brick was like a regular concrete patio block. I'm not sure if that was the only difference. I guess i don't remember what I paid, but I do know I got the patio block type. Any recollections? Thanks.

I hope that they sell the bricks again...we were planning on getting the wedding rings put on ours when we go for our honeymoon.

I remember reading somewhere that after 10 years (I think), you will have to renew your brick ($$). So it stands to reason that eventually, through attrition, more bricks will be made available for purchase. Maybe a waiting list?

Your brick is guarenteed to be there for 10 years, if it isn't you can get your money back. After that everything is just a bonus!!:D :D

Just a few notes...

It is VERY doubtful that they will ever be sold again. The program was considered a failure, they originally expected them to be sold out within 2 years.

The price diference in the bricks was just raising over the years. The special bricks like what they sold at the disneyana convention that had sorcerer mickey on it and were granite were much more expensive and limited...... I believe they were $225.

Disneyfan...

I'm not sure where you get your information from.

I got mine from the people that run the Walk around the World Kiosks and now the Living Legacy kiosks at EPCOT.

Originally, Disney sold the Walk Around the World Bricks and were very successful. They went for 85 to 120 bucks apiece. The Plan was for them to go around the 3 Monorail Resorts. They were selling like hotcakes so Disney decided to sell the Living Legacy things in ADDITION to them. They were cheaper but smaller. Disney's thought's were...The people that can't afford the bricks will buy the Living legacy spots because they are cheaper.
But once people saw how tiny they were and how small the pictures were..they were dissapointed. Disney, in the meantime, had already put up the giant "monuments" to put them on.
Realizing that the bricks were selling better than the Legacy pics, and realizing that they had underestimated what the people would do, Disney shut down the sale of the bricks so they could focus on the sale of the Living Lagacy squares.
They never RAN OUT OF Walk Around The World Bricks..they just quit selling them temporarily. I was told by Disney Castmembers that the Walk Around The World Bricks would eventually be sold again.
Contact Disney for info relating to this subject. I just know what I hear ... I'm just a Walk Around The World brickowner who was asking about the Legacy thingy....
