waitlisted for an interview

Hi everyone. So I applied to work for a position at DLR. I did the web questionnaire and a phone interview. The recruiter told me I was a good candidate for the position and she'd refer me for a second interview, however, she told me there weren't any appointments available for a second interview so I would be waitlisted for an interview. I've heard about being waitlisted for a position but never for an interview. Has anyone experienced this? I thought most DLR positions only require one interview.
