I was reading up on the London Underground Tube subway system in Wikipedia. While I was looking at a picture of a street-level entrance to the system in the article, I started to think about EPCOT and the replicated streets of London at the UK pavilion. So, I began to think. What if these street-level entrances to the London Underground were also replicated, as part of the World Showcase pavilion?
What if these street-level entrances weren't just for show, but actually were opened to EPCOT guests to walk down into an actual reproduction of a London Underground subway station? What if real trains pulled into the station and let in passengers? What it the train were an actual new ride through attraction? Man, talk about a perfectly themed que area!
My thinking didn't stop there. There's subway systems also in Paris, Tokyo, Washington, Madrid, Rome, Berlin, Bejing, and Mexico City. The ride could have stops at all or just of these other countries as well, each with a replica of a subway station from that country's capital! The ride would also function much like the WDW RR at the MK, providing both transportation of entertainment. If actually building it underground is too costly, it could be hidden in elongated show buildings to give it an illusion that you are underground.
My idea doesn't stop there. There's already a fake subway entrance at New York Street at DHS. This "ride" will be Disney's fist multi-park attraction, continuing from EPCOT to DHS and ending at New York Street, giving the fake New York City subway entrance a real purpose, leading to a replica of a NYC subway station. In addition to the real train that will run to EPCOT, Disney could put a second attraction there with a NYC theme, much like the old King King Universal attraction (but based on a Disney-owned IP).
Or instead of having it run around WS, just have subway entrances at London and Paris that lead to the train, which would loop just once to NYC at DHS. Any way, that's the basic idea.
