I was hoping to stay @ VWL in Oct.....depending on how much construction is going on...& if the pool is opened.....anyone know please advise.....

The main pool is still open and beautifu! It is only the smaller Silver Springs pool that is being rebuilt.

Hidden Springs is being rebuilt. Silver Creek is the main pool.

I liked these only to like that you shared the photos. Certainly don't like that Hidden Springs is gone. I know there will be a bigger pool, but still will miss my favorite spot in all of WDW. Loved Hidden Spings pool.

Stayed at VWL from 15-22 Dec 2015. Construction was not a problem. Yes, the beach is closed (movies moved into the Villas lobby area). Viewed the water pageant from the boat dock - excellent spot. Yes, the pool is gone due to it being expanded to a larger size in the future. All the talk about construction causing a lower experience in your vacation is simply not true. You still have the larger pool available. You need to ask yourself - are you there for the pools or for the parks. You can get a pool at almost every hotel if hotel pools are your desire.

Stayed at VWL from 15-22 Dec 2015. Construction was not a problem. Yes, the beach is closed (movies moved into the Villas lobby area). Viewed the water pageant from the boat dock - excellent spot. To be fair, construction is having more of an impact now. That nice walkway from the Villas past the beach over toward the boat dock is now closed, so you have to walk up the hill to the lobby and then down the hill toward Roaring Fork to get to the boat dock. Not a huge deal but certainly inconvenient. And for those staying in the main lodge, the lobby elevators are now closed. Only the elevators by Roaring Fork are available.

Just a note the elevators near the gift shop and doors leading out to the bus stop are also available and I was told the lobby elevators will be available very soon.
