Yes, you are allowed to have a link to the CONTEST, but you are not allowed to campaign for votes -- it's been a consistent rule, but it hasn't been a problem recently, so it's not generally mentioned until it comes up again, but MSU posted about it in this thread: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23470&highlight=signature

The original rule is probably somewhere lurking in another thread, but I couldn't dig it up...

Feel free to link to the contest, just don't tell 'em who to vote for -- if they like yours the best, you'll get the votes just by inviting them -- and everyone who designed this time had a GREAT entry, so the more votes the better.

Hope that clarifies it, and I'm glad the situation resolved amicably.

..so a few of you have asked why i havnt entered a contest in a while...

well...time for the truth..

YES..im a busy busy guy..but theres always time for photoshop..right??

..well..yeah..but i have been actually knee deep in contests for www.worth1000.com (kinda like competitions for the best of the best in the world of photoshop) They do a contest litereally every day, and its usually very involving. In the year Ive been participating, ive only won once..came in 2nd 3 times..and 3rd 9 times. Its not easy.

I wanted to give everyone a heads up....

I've asked mkt to take over the contests until further notice, and he's accepted the offer. I've become increasingly busy lately, not only with my business, but also with personal issues that have dropped the importance of these contests pretty far down on the list. I've loved participating so far, and hopefully I'll find the time and desire to continue to participate in the future. Thanks to all for understanding my current situation.
