Visual Impairment: Anyone here used a telescopic white cane vs a traditional folding white cane?

I don't generally use a cane in Disney.
Its hard to use it properly with so many people walking every which direction.
And the traditional cane is cumbersome even when folded.
I am considering a telescopic one for my upcoming trip more as an easy way for people to see my disability in certain crowd situations.
Something I'm having a hard time getting past is that the ones I've seen are not actually white and red they are silver and red so do people still get the gist that the person is visually impaired?
Also does it feel weird to have the cane get smaller in diameter at the bottom?

Cant address the different canes but from our experience with my DW w/c I doubt any use of any type of cane will affect how others will give you passage. They frankly dont care, are oblivious to any disabled persons needs. They are so caught up with their own path and are so focused on their devices they wont see you. You walking with a cane will not stand out as much as my DW in a motorized w/c and having a service dog along side her and she has multitude of problems with unfocused guests. People will still bump into you, cross in front of you , stop suddenly and cause you to collide with them.
