Hi :)
I'm visiting the Magic Kingdom at around 5:00 later today, and I was just wondering if any of you wanted me to photograph or document something at the park. I definitely want to check out those leaky boats at POTC! Comment below!

Anything you want would be great to see. I am kind of with Tom, I've seen a lot of pictures of the Tangled area bathrooms outside, but never the inside areas. Just curious if it is themed at all inside the bathroom areas, like by the sinks or something.

I don't know if it is appropriate to take photos inside a public restroom  Idk, what do you think? Although I was super tempted to take some photos inside the presidential potties at the American Adventure. Those were awesome toilets I must say! :p

Hi I'm back with a mini TR. Sorry I took a while, it was kinda crazy getting back home!

Anyway, I arrived at the Magic Kingdom at around 5:30 in the evening with my younger brother, Christian. Before we visited MK, I stopped at Poly to take a walk on the beach and enjoy a Lava Smoothie from the pool bar, while Christian enjoyed a flatbread from Captain Cooks near the arcade.

(The view from the swinging hammock that I was enjoying my smoothie with)

There was some ground clearing and construction going on the side of the hotel, this was most likely the DVC that is scheduled to open later in the future.

So after a peaceful walk around the grounds, I finally took the Resort Monorail to the Magic Kingdom to make it in time for the Castle Lighting Ceremony. I have been an AP for over 5 years and I still haven't seen the Castle Lighting Ceremony, so this was a real treat!
image.jpg

Main Street USA was magnificently lit and was looking fabulous. I haven't seen Main Street with all it's refurb tarps down in almost 2 years! I was so happy to see it looking like new.

The park was generally crowded, although the cast members controlled the crowds quite well during our visit. When we entered the park, we took a stroll down Main Street and headed towards the Castle.
image.jpg

By this time, the sun had just set. We were squeezing through the clueless crowds of people, most who had no idea what they were about to experience, to get towards the front.
image.jpg

We had an awesome view from where we were standing. We waited around 15-20 minutes for the ceremony to begin.

Sorry for some blurry photos, my camera isn't the best lol

Boy, what a sight... The show was cute and fun, but a little too short.

After the Ceremony, we squeezed our way to Adventureland to ride aboard the Jingle Cruise, but first, we decided to explore the Swiss Family Treehouse.

I'd hate to leave you off like this, but I have things to do to prepare for this week! I'll be back with more, so stay put.

Oh yes, and if the Mom or WDWMagic would redirect this thread to the Trip Reports, that would be great! :)

Seriously. The AA restroom is one of the nicest down there- you'll have to go to the lobbies of the deluxe resorts (like GF) to find nicer ones.

Good Morning Everyone! I'm back to finish reporting my observations from visiting MK last Saturday. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy!

I left off talking about visiting the Swiss Family Treehouse in Adventureland, which is nothing really new, but it's always fun to see.

Next, I decided to ride the Jingle Cruise. Overall I was not impressed, but I was not expecting much anyway. The overlay was mostly done in the boathouse. The queue was decorated in various Christmas decorations. One could easily miss the Christmas decor though. Here's pic
(sorry for the lighting)

All my other photos came out too dark or blurry... There is honestly not a lot to see here.

Anyway, the ride itself was enjoyable. Our skipper was quite hilarious, and the Christmas jokes were corny, but they made me laugh.. One thing I noticed when I was riding was that there was a significant amount of effects that were either broken or turned off. I noticed many speakers with deteriorating sound quality, a few static elephants, a few static natives, a hippo with its mouth stuck open, and a lot of monkeys in the temple scene appeared to be broken.

Other than that, the ride was fun. At one point of the ride, near the end, we were stuck because someone in the boats ahead was handicapped and had trouble getting off the boat. Our skipper took advantage of the extra time and played I Spy with the passengers, and was also having a really in depth conversation with Trader Sam. It was hilarious, and it was the real highlight of our voyage aboard the Jungle Cruise.

We decided to ride Pirates next, but on our way, we noticed Captain Jack giving a demonstration at the attraction. We decided that we would stay and watch. It was cute, and I sort of wish I was a little kid again so I could join him on stage. Captain Jack is probably one of my favorite Disney characters.

Anyway, after a few minutes of spectating, we headed to POTC. My brother and I were surprised to see it bear a FP+ sign. It also seems that the FP+ queue is now the right POTC queue, which was my favorite side.

We waited less than 10 minutes, and we were seated in the front on the new boats. I've been reading on the forums about all of the defects of the new boats. I honestly could not spot any leakage or puddles. I sat in the very front, and I only got "sea sprayed" on the drop. I actually found the new boats to be quite roomy, at least in the front. The ride itself was a fun as always, but I noticed a few blunders. For starters, the mist waterfall was not operating, but I could clearly hear Blackbeard's warning. The mermaids were bubbling, but the tail did not splash us. I also found that the Caribbean Village portion of the ride was unusually bright as opposed to Disneyland. You could see the shadows on the roof. The animatronics were looking fine, expect for the donkey in final scene, which was in B mode.

Overall, POTC seemed to be on very good condition.

After our voyage, we walked to Frontierland to find a quick bite at Pecos Bill. I had some Chili and Sweet Potato Fries, and we ate right in front of Splash Mountain, which was magical! After a quick snack, we decided that it was time to find a spot for MSEP, which I haven't seen in its entirety in 2 years.

We found a perfect spot across from the Shootin' Arcade. Now it was about this time when I experienced the typical "guest argument with cast member". While we were enjoying our good spots, and purchasing one of those light-up Christmas necklaces from a vendor, we started hearing shouting. It was coming from a southern man who was shouting at a female Cast Member because she would not let him stand behind the parade tape. If you don't already know, you must stand in the parade tape in order to view the parade, once you step out of the tape, you're in a "traffic lane." Anyway, he was yelling at her saying that she was the only employee that gave him a problem throughout his visit. One guest even told the man to cool it down, and stop swearing because he was in a family theme park. The man became infuriated, threatening to fight the guest who told him to calm himself. The Cast Member even seemed shook up, and explained to the angry man that she doesn't make up the rules, she just enforces them, and that guests must follow them. Meanwhile, the man's son was begging his father to stop arguing with the Cast Member. It was a mess, but eventually, the angry guest and his son eventually found their way into the tape, and cooled down.

I couldn't let all that hoopla effect my visit to MK, so my brother and I quickly started interacting with some of the parade aides. After a few minutes, the parade started, and made it's way to Liberty Square. It was just as beautiful as I remembered. Here are some pics, sorry about the lighting and quality:

I hate the way my camera captured lights!! D:

After the parade, we walked over to Big Thunder Mountain RR. The wait was 10 minutes, so we took advantage.

BTMRR was fun as always. It looked stunning at night, and the effects were all working in order, with the exception of the collapsing cave.

The next ride on our list was Splash Mountain. For those wondering how it's holding up, listen up, it isn't particularly good news though.

First of all the ride was pleasant because there was no line. I was the only person on line, and in the ride probably. It was about 60 degrees, so I made sure to wear my cardigan and my yellow poncho.

Anyway, some of the effects were either broken or turned off. Let me simplify all the broken effects in a simple list:
* Waterfall turned off in the first lift
* 1 singing frog was not working
* Brer Bear in B mode during Bee Scene
* All Laughing Place fountains were turned off.
* All turtles during the Laughing Place scene were turned off or broken.

* Showboat not rocking

Other than that, the ride looked great! The projection was working great, and the hopping Brer Rabbit was even working. The Zip A Dee Doo Dah portion was fabulous as well.

After our trip around Splash Mountain, we walked over to the Haunted Mansion. By this time, the park started getting empty.

The new signage at The HM seemed a bit too modern for the theme of Liberty Square and the HM itself, but the ominous glow on the signs looked very creepy.

It also seems that they now have a FP+ queue that enters through the middle gate and that bypasses the graveyard queue. Fortunately for us, we did not have to queue in graveyard, we went straight to the foyer.

Overall the ride seemed to be running in tip-top shape. All of the effects were working, including the Hitchiking Ghost projections, which seemed to have been in B mode recently.

Our next stop was Tomorrowland, more specifically Astro Orbiter. Tomorrowland at night is a spectacle to see! The lights shine it beautifully, but on Saturday both the electricity tower on top of Stitch's Great Escape and the red lit roof on top of Monsters Inc Laugh floor were both turned off.

Astro Orbiter was beautiful and exhilarating, but the launch pad (the queue on the upper level) was filthy!

After Orbiter, we decided to go visit Stitch. I actually like SGE, it's cute, and it's cool break from the crowds. Everything was working with the exception of one of the guns.

Our final ride of the day was Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, which was enjoyable. My brother actually scored 999,999, while I almost beat him at 845,000.

Before we left the park, I took one last photo of the castle all lit up in its holiday lights...

Overall, our night time visit to the Magic Kingdom was pleasant. The crowds were manageable, and the park was much brighter and relatively cleaner looking since our last visit. We had a fantastic time, and we couldn't be anymore thankful for this Thanksgiving Break. Have a magical day everyone!
