Visiting WDW in January

I am thinking of visiting WDW in the second week of January (starting around Jan. 10) for about 5 or 6 days and staying at the Boardwalk Inn. I know that the crowds are sparse at that time and some of the attractions are probably closed.

So my question is: Is a visit in January worth the time and expense? This will be my fourth visit but the first in the winter (the others have been during the summer). I'm not worried about the weather (I'm from New England) but I have some favorite attractions and would hate to see them closed.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chuck

Going in January is a great time to go! The lines are short...sometimes it's warm but not too warm and not too cold either. You will be able to see so many things because there won't be too many people there!

If I could go in January, I would.

Now, the water parks might be closed seasonally. If that is a big part of your trip, I'd hold off until spring. DownTown Disney is open and at least one mini golf course should be open!

Have fun!

We went in Jan 2003. There were no attractions closed. We did everything we wanted in the parks in three days. I wore shorts two of the days and the third day I wore a jacket but the weather was great. Watch out for Martin Luther King Jr Holiday. I believe it is crowded on that weekend. Also if you are staying on the property watch out for cheerleading championships. I hear they can be very very loud at night.

I loved it in January. The flowers were starting to bloom and it was not too hot, not too cool during the day. It sort of seemed like spring, but it was only January. I recommend it highly!

We've gone in December and January. There might be a few rides down for re-habs but not many more than any other time. There will still be plenty of people around, just not nearly as jammed as in summer.

Have Fun!
