Visit Disneyland but not Merriest Nites.....which day is better?

We aren't attending Merriest Nites but were thinking maybe the park might be less crowded on a weekday when Merriest Nites is scheduled? Or should we opt for a day when it's not scheduled? We know the park closes earlier on evening with Merriest Nites which we are fine with and we know that party-goers can enter the park at 5pm. Just trying to figure out whether to visit on a day with or without Merriest Nites for a smaller crowd?

Avoid party nights as a general rule of thumb. Come mix-in time, the park gets overcrowded very quickly, and the park starts to close even before the advertised party start. Stick to a non-party weekday and you'll be fine.
