Hi
Can you try to join the virtual queue if you are not starting your day at the park it is in? Say Tron is going to be VQ. The plan is to start the day in Epcot and then hop to MK in the afternoon. Or do you have to have a park reservation to join the VQ?

As of right now, the VQ times are 7 am and 1 pm and park hopping starts at 2 pm. You do not need to be in the park for the 7 am time, but you do need to be in the park for the 1 pm time.

So for the 7 am time, you would not be able to access.

At 1 pm, as of right now, no you would not be able to access, assuming all the times go right at 1 pm (which I would think would be the case for a while after opening).

It might end up running like Guardians has where the VQ has been open for hours after 1 pm, in which case you could hop over and happen to get a time, but it's impossible to say at this point. You might also be able to buy a LL for later in the day.

But if they do utilize a VQ and you want to experience it, plan on being at MK during the day.

*Third option: if you happen to be at a deluxe resort, Swolphin, or a DVC villa, you will get access to the Extended Hours. In which case, they will open the virtual queue again. You do not need to be in the park for this VQ. For Guardians, this VQ opens at 6 pm, and they would call groups starting around when the extended hours begin.

I think you can have tapped in but already left the park for the 1pm VQ. So the system doesn’t check your actual location, just whether you have entered the park.
