Virgin to Orlando - Do tell your stories?
How good is the V Lounge at Gatwick?
How good is there customer support?
Best thing and worst thing about Virgin?

Look forward to hearing your replies

Never had a problem with them in 6 trips . The one time there was an issue out of their control they were very helpfull and refunded/rebooked our entire holiday.
V-Room is good (and has a child free area)
As many will tell you they are not the cheapest (cue free DDP BA sermon from someone ;)) but we have always been perfectly satisfied.
And Living in the channel islands we get free tansfers for the luggage all the way from Disney :)
Also the DTD checkin is amazing as it means you can get a good 3/4 day in at the park on the day of your homeward flight :inlove:

Never had a problem with them at all in 5 trips. Would recommend them for travelling to WDW, but we now book accommodation through the Walt Disney Travel Company via a local travel agent - which is excellent. Use DTD drop off for luggage as an added bonus on the way home. Haven't used the V-room yet but may do next trip (Oct 2014).

What is DTD drop off?
Virgin have a check in desk at DTD.It is located by CdSoliel.you get your boarding pass etc there and when you get to the airport you go straight to tje departure lounge. If you have a hire car and an evening flight then you can get a last huzzah in one of the parks on the day of your outbound flight :)

The V Lounge is good....but is certainly not worth paying £20 ea for. All you can eat breakfast, hot drink and somewhere to watch the telly. I prefer to wander around the shops outside (and its cheaper)

Never had any issues with customer support, although their booking website can sometimes raise blood pressures. But they were quick enough to respond to and resolve any queries.

Good - being able to check in bags at Disney on leaving - giving an extra 3/4 day in the park.

Bad - Going economy, seats are small and cramped, the entertainment system is not brilliant (take a Ipad or similar) and the food is bland and stodgy. (Eat a full breakfast at Gatwick before you board)

for two 8-9 hour flights we consider it worthwhile to pay for the upgrade (nearly a day spent in a plane).Plus virgin PE doubles our luggage allowance :)
Whit???......Flight time from Glasgow to Sanford last year was 7 hrs 50 mins...For 3 upgrades to the Royal seats, would cost us an extra £600..( £199 each ) That's wayyyyyyy tooooooo much for a humble man like myself..However our seat pitch ( not again. ) of 33" in Eco is better than Virgin 31".. Trust me..That extra 2" gives me the extra leg room I req..;)

Always our first choice, the Vroom is fantastic. Flights to Orlando Intl. Downtown Disney check in. 23 Kg luggage allowance. Never had any problems so never needed the reps. The new inflight system sounds good.
My only pet hate is as FVC member and requiring internal UK flights I have to call to sort our booking, then I get charged £10 for booking by phone!! I have taken this up with the bookings people, who are as confused as I am. I have contacted them high up and I am waiting for a reply. Realistically if that is the only problem I have them it's not the end of the world.

Width is not a problem with me..:)..Suitcases not a problem..3 cases plenty for us..V room..???....whit..But £600 is a problem.....

Width isn't a problem for us either but with wider seats comes less people in your aisle :)
Suitcases .. We went out with 1 each came back with 2 each :D
So some quick maths
PE upgrade £199 pp
extra case for an economy passenger £65 pp
excess baggage charge for our Gatwick to Guernsey flight for the extra case (20kg pp allowance) £52
V-room for non PE/UC passenger £20
so the upgrade last time out cost us around £62 pp in real terms. :D:D:D:D

That cant be that much even to a scotsman ;)

God loves a trier...;)...You ain't selling me 3 seats for an extra £600...Our plane has plenty of aisle room...We go out with 3 cases 1/2 full..Come back with 3 cases full..Thank you sir..But we are fine in the soft leather 33" economy seats drinking champagne (£25) That's my extra money..:hungry:

Not trying to convert you from your national airline good sir ;).Just explaining how the upgrade(for us)is not so crazy. We did upper class one year (our second attempt at a disneymoon so got a good deal on the upgrade) and there is no way it is worth the extra moolah to travel like this (think it stands at 500 quid) EACH WAY :jawdrop::in pain::jawdrop:.
To each their own and tbh i wish more people would book with BA etc might force VA to lower the price :greedy:

im a nervous flier, told them and they explained a few calming techniques and they even got the captain to come down and talk to me during flight,
as for the v room, its quiet, foods ok,its a good escape from the hecticness of the shops etc.
