Virgin check in at Downtown Disney & airport transportation query......

Will be visiting from the UK in 6 wks staying at POFQ Whoohoooo!!!!!!! My question is if we use the DTD check-in facility for Virgin Atlantic on the day of departure back to the UK do we still have to be collected from our hotel/resort 3+ hours before our flight time or with already checking in with our luggage at DTD early in the morning will this allow us to be collected nearer the time of our flight? Would rather spend more time in the parks on our last day than stood in a massive checking-in queue at the Airport as we have done on previous visits Wondered if by using the DTD check-in we would be collected later than those who haven't already checked in. We have been to WDW several times but never used the DTD check-in and thought it might be worth doing if we get a bit more magical Mickey time on the last day. Would appreciate any help with this .

We haven't used the DTD check in for a couple of trips now, You can have your Magical express time changed, but they don't like to change it to much, so we find you only gain about an hour or so anyway, and we lose most of this time getting to DTD, and then from there to any resort, and then finally to the park of our choice.

We prefer to just have an early morning, check out and store luggage, and hit the park of our choice early and hard and get those final rides in, then head back to the resort for a late lunch(if appropriate) and get on the Misery Express (its only magical when you are heading towards Disney, not the airport) and look forward to the delight that is modern air travel

Thanks tamotu99, thinking about it you're probably right regarding my question, it appears what time we may gain changing the airport transfer pick-up till a bit later we would actually lose more time in the morning going to the DTD checkin. It was just a thought but realistically we'll probably just check the bags into the baggage hold at our resort/hotel as early as possible as we normally do and then hit the parks thereafter. Only 31 days to go now till we arrive in the magic bubble. Whoohoooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
