Vinylmation Urban Series 1

For all you Vinylmation fans out there, the new Urban series hit the shelves today and already appears to be selling like hot cakes. I know I bought me a case as soon as I saw it on the shelf. The chaser for this set is kinda disappointing however; but still fun. The price for one 3" figure is still priced at $10. Some slight changes however to packaging. Instead of the card of the figure being located in the box it is now sealed inside the foil with the figure. Also, the new 9" big figures no longer come with cards but buttons instead. Don't know if this is just for the Urban collection or a permanent change. My two favorite figures by far are the cheese mickey and the black out mickey.

It will be interesting to see how well the Urban series sells overall. The first day of a release is never really a good indication because all the die-hard fans run out to buy them the second they go on sale. I know I was at Epcot at 930 am and walked out with my full case and a 9" robot.

FYI- the 9" figures DO still come with the trading cards. They're now packaged above the figure's head instead of to the left like they were in Park 1. They come with a card AND a button.

My favorite hands down is El Super Raton (the Mexican wrestler mickey). I like Swiss Cheese and the backside of FuRRR too. Calling the chaser "kinda disappointing" is - in my opinion - the understatement of the year. What's funny is I can EASILY see people this time around trading the chaser for ANY given figure, because ANYTHING is an upgrade from that!

Is it the first week of May yet? Can we buy Park #2 now? Actually, maybe we can wait a week or two until I have a little money again - haha!

Oh god! The next series comes out in May! LOL Talk about Pay check killers.

I actually think the chaser is better than one or two of the regular Urban Mickeys. The weird Si-Fi one was a big let down for me cause I was looking forward to that one the most.
