I recently purchased this piece of art from a

person in Florida. I'm trying to figure out the story behind it. If anyone has an idea I'd love to hear it!! What I thought was odd is the "America" color scheme used which made me briefly think this could have been part of Frontier Land. Most likely not but would love to hear any theories!!

That is absolutely NOT Carl Barks art whatsoever. The blue and red Scrooge is the Italian Scrooge and wasn't done by Barks. Barks wound up going with the red coat and when Rosa picked up the mantle he always did as well. Those are the only two that are "canon" for me and I am an absolute Uncle Scrooge-Carl Barks-Don Rosa fanatic. I don't really accept Strobl, Rota, or Scarpa as being genuine "Uncle Scrooge". I still love the show because it has taken Scrooge to so many American kids that maybe then turned them on to Barks but nothing can ever reach what Barks accomplished. He goes on the Rushmore of comic book creators for all time. That piece right there will forever give me nightmares. LOL!

There were no cartoons in Liberty Square. The Muppets, Tina galore and the slightly toony Mansion inhabitants are a very recent development.

Your art does look fan made ineed. However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! The worth of a piece of art is what you ascribe to it, not the others.

Disney would never allow something that is so off-model in their parks. As was said above, however, if it makes you happy, that's what is important.

It does have that hobby/ backroom shop project look that someone with a set of wood working tools decided to put together. A professional Disney artesian would have had much better quality look to it. If you are a Scrooge collector and this character is one you have a hard time finding items for... its worth possibly having. Hopefully you didnt pay a premium price for it. You can find a lot of Disney things being sold thats represented as Disney but isnt. You really need to be very cautious when purchasing because people know theres a market for things especially involving characters that dont usually have a lot of merchandise connected to them out there.
