View from the Cinderella's Castle fifth floor balcony
Photos taken march 1979
Here is a quote from a web sight on the balcony"
It is no secret that during initial construction, Walt Disney had made plans to build a private penthouse in the upper reaches of the castle. As requested, this penthouse, a two floor design was being built to Walt Disney's request, until the unfortunate day of his death. Uncomfortable with the thought of living in the castle by herself, Walt's wife felt it would not be the same, and thus the final interior construction of the castle was left incomplete.
Three rooms were completed on the fifth floor, and a balcony, streaching around the side of the castle overlooking mainstreet, tomorrowland, and fantasyland. On the sixth floor, a high vaulted ceiling above two more unfinished rooms still remains to this day, collecting layers of dust and few electrical supplies used for the penthouse elevator and electrical equipment.
