I know your not supposed too. But what rides have you taped on and got away with? I'm thinking of sneaking my camera on some of the rides myself.

Have they always had this rule??

I've got video of all the old Epcot rides (Universe before Ellen, Horizons, World of Motion, JIYI with figment, land and livingseas along with some footage of the old Communicores. I also have the American Adventure (sat in the back row and placed tape over the red camera light). Plus a bunch from MGM and MK.

Usually video taping is ok if there is no light on the camera. I once sat behind a couple that was filming Rock n' Roller Coaster. (twice in a row!) Video taping is not allowed at MGM on any of the studio tours because of exclusive filming and copywright laws.

i agree with WDW-imagineer, they tell u to not use flash photography or have lights on video cameras.

"We spirts haunt our best in gloomy darkness so remeber, no flash pictures, please,"

"No flash pictures please, we spirits are frightfully sensitive to bright lights!"

:D

I'm not sure what the rules are. Sometimes you hear them say no taping, sometimes no flash pictures, and sometimes nothing at all. My greatest video accomplishements are Tower of Terror, and The Haunted Mansion (I have nightvision on my camera!)

I was afraid to use the nightshot on the camera....I've heard it can disrupt the infrared cameras on some rides, and i didn't feel like causing the ride to stop. I've taped rock'n rollercoaster.....tower of terror....kilamangaro safaris....muppet vision 4D....among others

Yeah, I herd that you should't use night vision on the attractions. I know that you can't videotape inside Alien Encounter. I'm hoping to get as much video as I can on my next trip. :)

I love it in Star Tours, when they tell you not to use flash photography, and somebody takes a picture of chewbacco and he starts going crazy. :D :D

i don't beleive the haunted mansion has any IR cameras so film film film! i filmed space mountain out in DL with nightvision on but the camera was so bouncy that you can barely see anything... oh well, i've got a new smaller camera now - so i'll try it again in august...

The basic rules are..

1. No Flash photography - as it ruins a lot of effects, shows you things that you shouldnt see, dazzles performers, affects night vision etc..

2. No Video taping - due to copyright issues, idiots using a video light, or due to risk of injury if you drop the camera etc..

There is no Video Taping on Alien Encounter, Tower of Terror Ride (not preshow), RnRoller Ride, Backstage Pass, Tough To Be A Bug, American Adventure, Millionnaire. These are the main ones that they seriously try to enforce.

I taped the Hall of Presidents last time. I tried to tape Timekeeper until they saw me. (They won't let you tape that.) I've also taped Spaceship Earth and Maelstrom.

I was in Alien Encounter once when they cut in over the soundtrack with a "No Video Taping" announcement, so they are pretty serious about that show. On a different note, When we get back to the hotel room in the evening we'll hook up the camera to the TV and watch the day all over again. Heck, sometimes we'll watch it waiting for the bus back to the hotel. Then watch it on the bus ride to the airport, then on the plane home. Then we get to annoy our friends and family with it.

I taped Splash Mountain...three times! They didn't have a problem - i had the camera around my neck when I got on the ride and then i started taping when we got away from the loading area.:p

Oh yeah! One time my uncle taped Star Tours and they had a voice piped in that said "There should be NO videotaping!" My incle just put the black tape over the red light so it was all good. I was like 8 at the time so you heard me screaming my head off, hahaha
