Video Release Rumor

I'm not putting a lot of faith in this, but I thought I'd post it anyway. A friend of mine, who just got back from Disney, told me that Disney is plannning to release a movie that has never been released on video and DVD July 17. The day of the 50 th Anniv. I asked where she heard this news and she told me a Cast Member at the hotel she stayed at, Caribbean Beach, told her.

I know it sounds bad, a "friend" heard from a "Cast Member" that "something" might be happening.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has heard these rumors? Plus I can only think of one movie that has never been released on Video or DVD here in the States.

I'm not getting my hopes up. Please don't hate me :cry:

I was just at the Disney store tonight looking for Nemo, and had expressed my concern for wanting to get it before it's put in the vault. She said that it wasn't quite ready for that yet, and then mentioned that the next one to come out, and apparently the only one that hadn't yet, was Cinderella. :) We can hope they are right, because I REALLLLLLY want that DVD!!!

I'd DEFINATELY take this with a grain of salt, considering the stigma that movie has taken on (Song of the South). I also think they'd be starting up the Disney promotion machine very soon if this is true. It doesn't quite make sense, though, to release this movie in conjunction with the 50th--It doesn't have any obvious ties with the anniversary of the park--Splash Mountain, of course, but nothing tying it with the park opening.

I skip through previews. :lol: I'm just saying... her info and that which you received match exactly. :) But, we shall see. *shrug* :wave:

Edit: I didn't mean to post that as a rumor... as fact. (About Cinderella) I would love to get Song of the South, as well. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Cinderella is due out in October of this year, and Song of the South is rumored to be coming out Summer of next year, but it isn't officially on the Buena Vista Home Entertainment release schedule yet.

If it is in fact coming out the summer of next year, then we wont know until 2 or 3 months ahead of time (if youre ONLY going by the Buena Vista Home Entertainment release schedule). They only announce a couple of months ahead. If you look now, it doesnt mention Cinderella, even though its coming out Oct. 4 for sure.

Oh well, looks like we'll have to sit tight and patiently wait to see if this is true or not.
