Why was Jordin Sparks there? Are they still struggling to get people into The American Idol Failing Experience? Paige O'hara & Jody Benson would have been WAY better..IMO.

Am I the only one disappointed with this? Billions of dollars spent and this is all they did for the opening? Heck when they opened just the mermaid attraction at DL they had a huge event with Jodi Benson and the others but they were part of the show, not just standing off to the side. And Cars Land had a HUGE event. Is it because there was a press event the night before with "the dragon" and that was the big hoorah? No hoorah for guests other than 10 minutes of ultimately nothing more than a typical afternoon castle show? Wow... look at me being a doom and gloomer. But I am really disappointed. I really expected something incredible for the opening. Something with the princesses represented and their associated voices up on stage. Don't get me wrong, I love Gennifer Goodwin (huge Once fan) and it was awesome she was there but blah. I'm not feeling the love here... at least not when compared to the "events" they've done to celebrate openings on the other coast.

Jordin Sparks actually does a lot of music for Disney and is seen on the Disney Channel pretty often.

Did anyone see Canada AM this morning? They did some live broadcasting from FLE and had a grade-school aged girl who was describing the tour of WDW she got yesterday (including FLE) and asked what was her favourite thing. She said Splash Mountain.

Not that there's anything wrong with that opinion, but when you're doing a live reveal of a new area that's cost you a few hundred million $ to build, I'm sure Disney would prefer it be something related to that.

She also seemed too shy or uninterested in going to Fairy Godmother School (I'm not kidding, they said that, missed when she came back).

Looks like Jodi Benson was there after all based on the ribbon cutting video. That makes her lack of appearence in the opening ceremony all the more puzzling.

Other celebrities there were: Chelsie Hightower and Tony Dovolani (Dancing with the Stars), Jo Anne Worley (voice of the wardrobe), Meredith Vieira, Andy Garcia (didn't see him, but there was a photo of him on the Disney Parks Blog today), and Ron Clements & John Musker.

Many of the stars stayed behind to talk to fans, and a CM took a picture of me with Clements and Musker. :D

I ran into Meredith Vieira thursday morning filming a scene with Gaston ,drinking the brew.Tried to take pics of the opening, but fathers where lifting kids on their shoulders..then had some teenagers do it in front of me while filming,so I pushed my way thru.I wanted to see Jo Anne Worley , loved her on Laugh-In.And it would had been great to see Snow White walk out with Gennifer Goodwin. Will return Monday, or Tuesday with the t- shirt on to get the pics after the crowds have there way with the place.

I really loved this dedication ceremony.

Jordin Sparks seemed so nice, and I love the medley she sang. I also thought that Ginnifer was a nice MC for the event.

I just wish that Pagie and Jodi were up on the stage too. That would have been very special. I wish they had come out after the "royal court" of all the princes and princesses. It would have been nice to see them on the stage. Too bad they couldn't fly in more of the people who portrayed the different characters.

Did they really invest "billions" in this project?

I thought the total price tag was a few hundred million ($300-500 million, I thought)...not "billions".

Are you including Carsland, BVS, and other projects in California in the "billions" price tag you are citing?

Even then I don't think it would be "billions"...but maybe close to one billion.

Yes, definitly not "billions" or even a billion. The number I have seen in most of the press if $450 million.

I liked the dedication ceremony and enjoyed Jordin's medley, I think it was a good way to cover all the songs, although I do wish that had at least brough Jodi and the others up on stage.

I wasn't "citing" anything... I was exaggerating to make a point. The point was obviously missed though. All I'm saying is that for all the money they spent (I don't care if it was $1 million, $450 million or $7 billion) it seems this didn't do it justice at all.
