Video help

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about how to enhance sound on home videos. I have a few videos that are difficult to hear the sound on and I was wondering if there was any way to make it so you can hear it a bit better. I have several WDW videos with bad sound quality from my cp. I was thrilled that my parents let me "have" the video camera, until I tried to watch a video and realized that you could hardly hear the sound. You can only hear it if you turn the tv up about as far as it goes, and then it's real faint. Is this something that can be fixed?

Also, we videotaped my best friend's wedding for her and had a similar problem. It was an outdoor wedding without a PA system and you can hardly hear the vows. Is there any way it can be enhanced? She really wants her video and I've been putting off sending it, because frankly it's horrible and I'm a bit embarrassed by it. (Plus the angle's bad and you can see my underwear line throughout the whole thing...).

Just thought I'd take one last chance and ask you guys if there's anything that can be done. You all know more about this stuff than I do.

Are the videos imported onto your computer? if so your video editing program (there are so many out there) will let you increase the audio levels :D

Just repeating the above - if you import the videos into your PC for editing, you can bring the sound levels up in there. Also if you find source tracks for some rides (try Disney Central) you can put them over the original sound.

I haven't tried putting them on my computer yet, though I have a USB cord for the camera that the wedding video was shot on so I may try that. Where would be a good place to get the software needed for editing the sound? Does one come with the camera? Or is there something I can download?

Unfortunately, the camera with the WDW videos is older (like from 1994/1995ish I think) and it doesn't have a USB cord to hook up. Is there any other way of getting them transfered to a computer? Most of those videos are of my friends from the cp and our adventures touring the parks and resorts. Very few of the videos are of rides. I'm more interested in getting the cp videos than the ride/parade videos as those are more replaceable.

Thanks for the help!

I've not used it for editing, but Windows comes with Movie Maker, I don't know if it can edit full quality video.

For older analogue video (which is what I still use) There is a capture card you can get for your PC - Pinnacle DC10. It usually comes bundled with editing software called "Studio", which is what I use. But be warned it's very buggy and temperamental. When it works, it is great. When it decides to play up it can be a real pain.
