Video Encoding Problem

I have two videos, one labeled Xvid, I so downloaded Xvid (I Think) and they still dont play. I get audio and just scan lines as the picture. I have both Divx and Xvid installed, but i dont know if Xvid as installed right or running. I hope you guys can help me with this

hmm .. only thing that would come to my mind is using the alternative ffdshow filter for decoding xvid then ..

btw .. I think you have a problem with decoding (watching a movie) .. not with encoding (rendering a video)

hey dolby, its not working, could it be my media player (windows media player) isnt seeing it??

in the ffdshow menu set the xvid decoder to libvacodec .... and mybe use a more customizable player for playback .. like bsplayer

is fdshow suppose to be a program, because it just downloaded some .dll files and stuff. there is no menu or anything like that, also its not in the start menu

ffdshow should come with an *.exe installer and creates a entry in your programs options
