Great video, it really shows you the uniqueness of this attraction. I finally saw the Country Bear Jamboree for the first time last September (2011). While waiting for the doors to open, I had an interesting conversation with a woman who said this attraction was always her Husband and hers favorite attraction. She said they had come to MK for over 25 years together and this was their special place. (She also informed me she was a Minnie Pearl impersonator and did an amazing "Howdeee") She told me her husband had passed away two years earlier and this was her first time back to the attraction. I was completely mystified by this and could not wait to get in to see what was so spectacular. She insisted I sit with her so I did.

The show did not wow me. I was impressed with the gusto in which the CMs clapped and stomped their way through the songs in an attempt to get the audience involved. They really did their best to give the attraction a lot of hoopla. While it is by far not the most exciting attraction or a modern electronic marvel, it did have its own unique side and it did engage you. I also saw the joy it gave this widow. She had tears in her eyes as she followed along. Occasionally she would whisper a piece of trivia to me or tell me how much her husband loved a particular song.

I might have walked away from this like a lot of people thinking the attraction is old and dated or that Country Bear Jamboree needs to go or be changed and brought up to date. However, having experienced firsthand the magnitude of memories it evoked from this woman, it made me realize how sometimes the overlooked attractions are the ones that make the greatest memories. This attraction was an old familiar friend to her and she cherished it. I feel the same way about CoP. Maybe Disney is on to something is keeping the nostalgia alive.

I wish they'd would've just used "Lost on my way to your heart" For Big Al from Vacation Hoedown..He's the reason the show was so Good. I remember the tons of Merch they used to have with him when MK opened..

One of my favorite early WDW moments was leaving the Jamborie and finding the Moose, Buffalo, and Deer singing in the Restaurant next door. I miss those days.
