Disney is a dream that may or may not be achievable. Dad's business is established and ready and waiting. My advice is to go for the sure thing at home.

Ultimately, your dad's approval will be of more value to you in the end.

But... It's only my opinion, you have to make life decisions for yourself.

I don't want to sound like a dream killer, but if you dad has a successful business that means a lot to him it would probably be best for you to take over. You aren't guarenteed anything with Disney and if that doesn't work you might be stuck. I'd say enjoy running your own business and keep WDW as an awesome getaway.

I think you see your life pretty much mapped out for you and worry you will spend the rest of your life pondering the what ifs. You'll never know until you try. Can you do a CP? You can always work there seasonally if you can find someone to take care of the business for a few weeks. At least the experience would help you decide.

Who knows? The future is an illusion. I kinda would lean toward taking over your dad's business. You might find a way to incorporate Disney magic into it and still get your fix. Disney is very uncertain. But again, try a CP or an internship or seasonal work. It's only for a few months, and you might find some answers!

I went down there for my CP and I was talking to a lady that I worked with a few times at a certain location- she's maybe late-40s mid 50s has grown children etc. (and is still working in entertainment! fabulous huh?!) and she gave me some good advice- she reminded me that Disney will always be there. it isn't going anywhere. So take care of things that need to be taken care of (school, in my case) and go back after. So maybe it's something where you take over his business for a few years, and get it to a place where you can afford to take maybe a year off and go work for disney- leave the company in someone's hands (that you trust) when things are stable and you can take a little leave of absence! granted you can also still be calling the shots and running the show, you'd just need some help.

i'm in a similar situation with the dance studio that I teach at- we're going through some transitioning phases and things are being handed off to us so I'm going to stay here for a couple years until things are settled again, and then I can go back to florida, even if it's just for a year or two, before I'm back with the studio for the longhaul....

you can always do the CP which is only a semester long. After that you can go seasonal and work a week or 2 out of the year while in the meantime running your buisness.
