VCR Rental at Polynesian?

When I called CRO, they told me that it was not possible to request a VCR at the Polynesian. Is this true? Does anyone know of any other way to rent one for our stay?

I think Blockbuster still rents them out. VCR's are pretty cheap now....you could probably just buy one at Walmart for around $50.

I agree ..why on earth would you want a VCR? if you going to watch videos of what you taped in the park .. does your video cam have out put jacks ( video / audio) ? we have hooked our video camera up to the tv to watch ours.

My two-year-old LOVES videos, and although we don't plan to spend much time in the room, putting on a video will help him wind down and relax before an afternoon nap, and might help in the evening if we have trouble getting him to bed in a strange environment. Not to mention giving him something to occupy his time while my husband and I shower and get dressed in the mornings. If we can't get one, then we can't (it's not worth bringing one-- we're flying into Orlando). It would be a nice extra to have, that's all. Disney World is a super-stimulating environment, and it would be good to have some familiar videos for him just in case.

I know there is 24 hour Disney channel, but most Disney movies are not appropriate for 2-year-olds.

there is Toon Disney ..which is all cartoons, and the disney channel is not all movies ..there are morning cartoons for small children, like bear in the big blue house. I guess you might try what gepetto suggest and rent one at Blockbuster.

I also recommend letting him watch the TV tour. It runs 24 hours a day in about a 25 minute loop. And it shows all the parks and everything to do. He can watch everything there is to do and eventually he will fall asleep watching it. He will like the fact that he is watching everything he did on TV. Also every night from about 7-10 they have Bed Time stories. They are stories (no pictures) of some of the classic disney movies. Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid...etc.

you might consider maybe music instead? I would suggest you read to him to settle him down for a nap, a favorite stuffed toy taken with him might help him adjust if he is bothered by not being at home. Never had that kind of problem ..we started taking the girls when the youngest was only 6 months old and they were usually asleep before we got back to the room. everyone raise your hand if you have carried a sleeping child from the bus / monorail to the room !!!!

I like the TV tour idea-- that will probably work. I'm probably overthinking the whole thing anyway. If the hotel rented VCR's, that would make life easier but I'm sure we'll be fine. We'll probably have enough souvenirs every day to keep him busy anyhow!
